New interior lights on 2008 pt's? Can't Post

I was poking around on chrysler.com and found a picture that I had a question about. Its in the pt cruiser interior section. It shows the radio and ac controls and their are lights shooting out from underneath. My 06 has holes where the lights would shine through but no lights are present. Is this something new for 2008?

Our '06 GT has the lights you describe that shine on the drink holder in front of the shifter, I've never really looked to see exactly where the light comes from.

I had my "01" for about 4 yrs when I found the light over the cupholders - the bulb was out - put in a new one and it worked fine.

Now you have me curious. I have an 05 convertible and there are no lights over the cup holders. Tomarrow when the sun is up I am going to go out and see if I have the lights, or places for lights. Would be a very handy thing! Thanks for the info, Teddi

I think you need to have a additional "light group package" option in your car, my '05 DC4 Convertible has a light above the cup holders that matches the blue/green of the rest of the dash lamps.

Does yours have a blue colored film over the opening? I bet it gives off a blueish tint eh? It would be cool to switch out the little films with different colors and see how it looks!

Nope - right now it's only got a white plastic cover on it - I was wondering if I could find a mirror ball small enough to put under it. That's about all I could afford for a show and glow right now.

I hate you guys! I want the cool lights too! I never got the option of a interior lights package? I have never heard of it before I was poking around. I was driving last night and it gets so dark in the car u cant even see the cupholders down there..... post pics so I can see what kind of lights I might need.

P.S. I have been secretly adding some "Mods" to my cruiser Wink mostly just exterior accessories! But I am so excited for my spoiler to come today! I paid like $214 for it from a dealership! Awesome!

Hi ThreeLAKE, Don't forget to get under the hood. There's 3 parts to this - Exterior, Interior and Engine Bay. Check att. below. BTW - if you're secretly adding mods - you're wife will catch you eventually.

Re: [kinky kitty] New interior lights on 2008 pt's? Can't Post

Ron, my '05 has a square hole where it looks like a light could go. When you did the card stock with the LEDs, did you have a plug up in there that it all just plugged into? Reason I ask is because I have a bunch of blue 12V LEDs that I bought for something else that never materialized and could spare a couple for such a project!

hi penguin,
i just had the hole also. what i ended up doing was running wire myself to the fuse holder and hooking into my headlights. you will have plenty of light and they are only on at nite.i thought it might end up too bight but you will not even notice it after a couple times at night.
now i just want blue instrument lites to go with them

Re: [kinky kitty] New interior lights on 2008 pt's? Can't Post

OK, you all got me confused and curious now. LOL.....Looking at the picture of the center console bottom I see 2 cut-outs in the bezel but no hole. So what everyone that has lights are saying is there is holes there and a light on the inside that reflects onto the cup holders?
I've never seen that before.......I see a interior mod coming up in the near future then....LOL

Can someone share a pic of the console with lights?

Thanks

Hi Mike, There are 2 attachments below. It's a rectangular hole the clip goes into.

Garpike, you were right - it is blue plastic. Mine had shifted and was throwing white light down so......
