New to the forum, new owner of the PT Cruiser Touring Convertible ^_^ Can't Post

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say that this forum totally rocks! I wandered onto it before buying my PT Cruiser Touring Convertible to check what other owners had to say about it and when I didn't see anything too bad about it, I went out, test drove it (after doing a lot of research of course), compared prices with dealerships, and bought one today. Here is a profile pic of my baby:

Congrats on the new PT! We just got ours last month and we've been having a blast with it ever since. We use just about any excuse to go out, put the top down and drive around. Damn this car is addictive!

Ohhhhhhhhhh Wendy!
Your baby is just wonderful. My baby is inferno red. I'm sure they could be good friends. Anyway, I just wanted to congratulate you on your new pride and joy. We got ours in March and STILL every day we find excuses to drive it. In Houston we drive it with the top down and the AC blasting. I can't believe how GREAT this AC and heater are!!! Someone in the general forum recently posted that the PT in PT Cruiser stands for psycho therapy, which I thought was PERFECT and hilarious. I was already thinking my joymobile was an antidepressant on wheels, so psychotherapy mobile is also quite fitting. Well, enjoy the ride, and don't forget to wave to every other pt on the road...it's a cult phenomenon to do that. Have fun!

I love how your license plate reflects your car and you're so lucky to have autostick -- that's so much fun!

Hi Wendy!

Congratulations on your new baby! It's gorgeous! I just got my new baby on 6/29 and I can't believe the difference from driving a sedan vs driving a convertible! I traded a 2001 Inferno Red Classic Edition for the 2005 Cool Vanilla TE Turbo so I've been cruisin since the beginning of time! Jump 2 Enjoy the ride!

Congrats Wendy! I got a Lt. Almond 2005 Touring Convertible 2 weeks ago (already put 1100 miles on it). I love it! I read the forums too. And there were those horror stories about leaks or roofs tearing or about the windows not dropping to let you out of the car, but fact is, every car has problems, and I love my convertible! I even found a Matchbox car made in 2002 (back when PT Convertible was still a concept car) and it is Light Almond in color! It looks just like mine and it rocks! I'm gonna leave it in the package. I also found a PT Convertible wall clock that has a picture of the Light Almond convertible on it. Its $15, but I'll probably buy it. You can probably find not only a Matchbox car in Blue, but also a 1/18 scale replica in Blue.

Take care, talk to you on the forums sometime.

Have you seen any electric blue Matchbox verts or any size replica? I've seen a black one with a gray top at Wal-Mart that I almost got just because it was a vert. As I looked at it closer though, I noticed it had a sorry paint job.

Electric Blue Diecast is gonna be hard to find. You can probably get it in Dark Blue or Navy Blue though.
While you could usually get Diecasts of the PT Cruiser Hard top in almost any color, the convertible has not yet gained enough momentum with the Diecast companies to make it worth their while to provide multiple colors.

Justpeachy, get one of these and hang it from your rear-view mirror, it ROCKS!!!!

Be sure and order it quick, since this is one of the only sources for this particular model I have found, and it is an out-of-production diecast from 2003.

PT Cruiser Convertible 1/64th scale Diecast (Lt. Almond) Back in 2002 when it was still a concept (But it looks like the 2005 model!)
http://www.ediecast.com/products/edjl2294.html

I bought 2 of them. One to display in the case, and one to hang from my rear view mirror. I thought about velcro-ing it to the dash, but didn't want to clean up the sticky gunk if I ever wanted to remove the velcro.

Its so awesome!

Cool. I have not bought one.(Between $15.95 and $19.95) but I plan to try and get one soon.

Here is the direct link to the eBay item, in case you can't find it.
