Nightmare Cruiser Update

Today I received a call from the dealer telling me to pick up my car because the DC genius will not be there until the end of the month or the beginning of next month. So after being in the shop for two weeks I get the car back the same way I brought it in, still having the same idle problem. When I picked it up and drove away I suddenly noticed that now the speedometer wasn't working. Back to the dealer 20 minutes later that problem was corrected. To bad they can't do the same for the idle problem. Anyway it'll be back in the shop soon. ---------- '05 Dream Cruiser Series 4, 5-speed, stainless BTG cat/back dual exhaust, Roady 2 XM satellite radio, power antenna, BTG strut tower brace and hood struts Hurst competition shifter, K&N air filter(so far)

I will lay odds that you have bad gas (your PT that is) and/or junk got in your gas tank. All your complaints are eerily familiar. A year or so ago I had similar things going on, along with a check engine light. While not exactly the same as yours, the irratabilty and seemingly strangness stumped my dealer too. They replaced just about everything possible, pumps, hoses EGR this EGR that, gas cap etc. When it became public that there were certain stations in our area that had bad gas, we flushed the gas out, got gas from a new station with a brand name, just for luck added a can of injecter cleaner. My baby has never had a lick of problems, misfiring/ stalling or hesitation since. Needless to say I will never go to a station that starts with a "C" again. I was mad at Chrysler and my dealer for 4 months while they hemmed and hawed over the problem, back and forth I went to the dealer, face getting redder each time. When all was said and done, it really wasn't anything to do with Chrysler. I do not profess to be an expert, but my lottery money is on your gas somewhere between the tank and injectors. Even though the final "fix" wasn't their problem, Chrysler put it under warranty just to get my ugly mug out of the service bay. -Paul ----------

At this point I'll try anything. Oddly enough I did try a can of fuel injecter cleaner and it did run better for a day or two. But, then it went right back to the idle problem. I have been using premium fuel in the Cruiser for the past three months. So, I'll switch brands and see if it works. Thanks for the reply. ---------- '05 Dream Cruiser Series 4, 5-speed, stainless BTG cat/back dual exhaust, Roady 2 XM satellite radio, power antenna, BTG strut tower brace and hood struts Hurst competition shifter, K&N air filter(so far)
