Opinions Are like Feet.....Everyone has at Least Two

I just finished registering and am seeking your humble opinons and experiences. Here's my story. I commute throught the hills of PA. 54 miles one way, two lane (can be rough) twisty, hilly terrain. Last fall I departed with my beloved Miata and bought a CRV. I have no passion for the "V" like I did the Miata. I want passion. Anyway, I been considering the PT's both "wagon" and "vert". Must say my heart is with a vert but am curious about how these cars hold up on some "rougher" country roads. Is cowl shake present? Will these cars hold up to the 25/30K miles per year I'm gonna ask of them? Thanks for your opinions. Any other offerings you care to throw in will be appreciated. Mr Quality ----------

I've had my ragtop for almost two years now, 25,000 miles, and have driven on a lot of less than good roads. Now cowl shake at all. I've put 1 1/2" lowering springs on the front, dual exhaust, cold air air thing, added an amp to the stock 6 CD, strut bar, and Stage One. I love it!! ----------

Welcome to the club from the Philly area! We've had ours since last May. We drive everywhere with it including driving Philly to Boston every couple of weeks, Poconos a few times as well as the daily commute. We've been nothing but happy with the performance. I suggest you go to a local dealer and try out the vert on the very roads you're talking about. 26,000 miles on my 05 Vert and all is good. We cruise in the Colorado Rockies at least once a month and have been to CA and WA on seperate trips with no problems. I had a 01 Sedan also and the only thing I miss with the Vert is the storage room (you don't have a lot with the RagTop) ---------- Jack Smith (Smittys PT) Webmaster Colorado Cruiser Club

My '01 has over 160,000 miles now. It still handles well. I do a lot of interstate and open highway driving and a fair amount of dirt/back roads chasing down my convicts. BTW, welcome to the organized insanity. Get your PT. Take a look at other convertibles and none have as much space as the PT. The trunk is sorta low though to get bags and stuff out of there. ---------- 2005 Touring Edition Convertible Turbo 2.4L LITE Automatic, cool vanilla, faux Street Edition badging, K&N drop in filter, modded airbox, mini-chrome side flames, chrome gas cap cover, customized rear mud flaps, flying siberian husky fur when top dropped.
