Hi Clive, thanks for this thread. We have been watching last years auction on TV for the last couple weeks. The amount these cars get is unbelievable. Wonder what the PT's will bring? Looking forward to this years auction and also a rally in Scottsdale, put on by the Arizona Cactus Cruisers, this coming weekend. Take care, Mickey ---------- 2005 ELECTRIC BLUE CLASSIC Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you have decided to look beyond the imperfections

The second one you listed (lot # 1516) is owned by Jerry Farha here in Wichita, KS. Here are some pictures I took of it at his shop. Sunday is shen it going on the block. http://picasaweb.google.com/gturb03/JerrySPT ----------

You're welcome, Mickey. After watching the first day's coverage, the folks at B-J must be asking themselves "What happened?!?" Total sales were about *half* of last year's Tuesday total. The "Monster Garage" lots were largely a bust... basically a waste of an hour of auctioning. Those novelty creations sold for a fraction of what the organizers probably thought they would. The Speed Channel crew were accused of being too critical and questioning of the lots last year. Their response to that? Be even *more* critical and skeptical of the offerings this year (so far)! LOL! Virtually every lot was nitpicked and naysayed for possible discrepancies between what they saw on the vehicle (or the description) and what they thought should be the truth. I bet Davis (and Craig Jackson) will be bristling at the negativity again this year. At the end of yesterday's coverage, Steve Davis was briefly interviewed by the commentator. He was trying very hard to smile... but it looked like a painful grimace. Hopefully, the rest of the event will be more of a hit. Lookin' forward to seeing the two Cruisers on the block... but based on how "novelty cars" bombed on Tuesday, I doubt the PT Wood Chipper will sell for more than $10K. ----------

$12,500...... I thought that PT wood chipper would have sold for more than that. ----------

Hi Clive, Leo, I am so mad missed the wood chipper but thanks for the heads up on Sunday. That PT Roadster will be worth seeing. Any speculation on what it might sell for? I thought they did the high dollar ones on Sunday. I especially like the hot rods, are they the best? Surprised at the selling price on some of the older ones, seems low to me. How about the low mileage on 40 year old cars, unbelievable. Mickey ---------- 2005 ELECTRIC BLUE CLASSIC Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. I was disappointed they did not show the yellow 32 Ford coupe that came up for bid and they did not even mention how much it went for. The car I have always wanted is a 32 Ford high boy. Charlie ----------

If it was a 5 window, it went for $61,000. You can find a listing of all of the cars at: http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/search/default.aspx You can search for make, model, year, etc... and even see photo's to verify you are looking at the correct vehicle. ---------- New owner 2001 Limited Edition. Yeah, some of the low mileage cars are incredible. On Tuesday, there was a '78 VW Beetle convertible with *38* miles on the clock! The commentators mentioned that the owner had driven it home from the dealer and then occasionally backed it out of the garage, ran the engine for a while and put it back. I think it sold for $30,000. ----------

Clive, I saw that Beetle. Brought back memories as had a brand new, direct from the factory, 1969 Volks. Stationed in Italy and went and picked it up. The car is still on my ex-father in law's property. My daughter drove it and foot went through the floor boards, her husband replaced it. Lots of miles and memories with that Beetle. ---------- 2005 ELECTRIC BLUE CLASSIC Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you have decided to look beyond the imperfections

Looks like the Custom Cruiser Roadster (lot 1516) sold for $25,000. This year's auction definitely wasn't as making the big money of last year's event. ----------

Thanks Clive, I missed seeing it as well. I loved that Auction and did see, I think I have the year right 1937 Ford Roadster, the one that Chrysler got it's PT design idea. That was interesting. Also read where the Prowler- which I love- had a influence on the PT design. Neat cars for the inspiration for our great cars. ---------- 2005 ELECTRIC BLUE CLASSIC Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect.
