Performance brake pads

I'm going to need to replace the rear pads soon and I'm searching for suggestions for new pads. I have a 2003 GT Autostick and will be having the opportunity to have the car on Road Atlanta for "Performance Driving Experience" about once a month starting in late February. So, I am looking for some pads which will be a good mix for street and performance (work well at high temp). Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, ---------- Bob, 2003 GT Atl

I went with Russell stainless steel lines and got from eBay slotted and drilled rotors for about $239, aded Pep Boys ceramic front pads and semi ceramic pads for rears. Never used on track but perfect but plain perfect for steet and mountain driving. Never Never faded. Never Never had pedal soften. Ran them for about 30,000 miles and they plain did not wear very much and never any brake dust. Even wife told me our 06 just does not have that good brake feel and instant braking action that our 03 GT had!! ---------- 03 GT Beltline Pinstrip(reflective black), K&N Typhoon air intake, Interior Air Filter, Billet Aluminum Door Pins (Rally Style), Flexible Black Rubber 14" Metra Antenna, Locking Gas Cap, Metal Racing Pedals, Presto ChangeO 3bl Turbo GT sign, Billet Oil Cap, Hood Struts, Cargo Mat, Rear Splash Guards, and Chrome Front Bumper Inserts.

Steelbluegt, Thanks for the info. Didn't think to look at Pep Boys ceramic pads. I will check them out along with others. ---------- Bob, 2003 GT Atl

I have the cross drilled and slotted rotors from prototypepower.com coupled with Hawk HPS pads and love them. I've had the car out at Buttonwillow Raceway for NASA HPDE runs and never experienced any fade to speak of - there are two sections on this track where you brake hard from 100+mph to negotiate 90 degree corners, among others of course. A buddy of mine has been running these pads for a few years on a PT that is tracked regularly and he swears by them too. ---------- '04 Limited Edition Platinum Series Turbo Lite + Stage 1 + VAK intake + Magnecor wires = 14.48 @ 95mph Pix here

Thanks Mike, I have been considering either the Hawk or EBC. I can delay my decision a little while since Road Atlanta is repaving the track surface and it is behind schedule due to weather. My next opportunity for track time will probably be end of March now. ---------- Bob, 2003 GT Atl
