Personalized, Custom, or Vanity Plates Can't Post

Hi Everyone!Cheering

I'm new to this site and have owned my Black 2005 PT Cruiser Convertible since May of '05. A friend is a tire distrubutor and gave me as a gift the most gorgeous custom chrome rims that really finish off the look of the black polished finish and when the convertible top is down, it's just a real winner! I have a personalized plate, my name is Joy so my plate reads JoysPT. It's amazing how many people comment on my car and plate in parking lots, when I'm pumping gas, everywhere, especially elderly people which surprises me. I just love my car, it's my baby and everyone, strangers always say "that car is you and the plate really makes it".

I'd like to know if others have personalized plates and how they arrived at the name.

I'll have to get a pic of the car on, but wanted to post this for now. If there is already a post on this subject, please alert me.

Joy

Hey Joy,

Cool story! I too have vanity plates and mine read RPM'S PT which refer to my initials Rich P Massa plus the PT. lol
This is also how I came up with the name RPM inferno because I also have a convert and the color is inferno red which made sense to me at least.
Have a good one.

Here is a pic of my plate! My name is Blake and the 3LAKE kinda looks like BLAKE but cooler! My dad ordered it for me because my signature doesn't have the back of the B and thought the plate would fit my personality! HE WAS RITE!

Thanks so much to all who have checked out or responded to my post. I just love all the background info on vanity plates, and rpminferno, I loved the red convertible. I must get a pic of my babygirl on before the weekend is out. I'm new to the site and didn't know that everyone has pics up already. I love the vanity plates and I've never driven a car without one, but the PT seems to just warrant one even more don't you think?

Re: [joyspt] Personalized, Custom, or Vanity Plates Can't Post

HatHi Joy and welcome from Michigan. My l/plate comes from a shop term (when I worked as a diemaker at Chrysler), when metals have been machined exactly size on size for a perfect fit. So I had been called SLIPFIT at work because I was good at it. When I got my sailboat I named it SLIPFIT because a boat well is also a slip. So it seemed appropriate to carry the name over to my PT. Hi Joy My icon pic is my vanity plate. Here in Cal we have different designs on the bacground of our vanity plates. Some of money goes to the charity is is designed for. I chose the Childrens' design because you get to pic 6 letter/number combos and a "sign". Either an open hand, a star, a +, or a heart. I am an old hippy and and I truly believe we should all practice what my plate says. Since there are so many plates here in Cal we alll have to get creative! The first choice of spelling was already taken. Can you figure it out?

Hi Mike,Cheering Love that black PT as mine is black, and I love that story! Love the Woody too! I'm just at the 40 y.o. mark and keep running into people born in the 80's when I graduated high school in 1985, where does the time go and the funny thing is I still feel 20 and think I look the same too, it's a funny phenomenom. Love the back info on your plate, and all the stories I'm getting on this thread! Thank you all and when I get more time this week, I'll read more and respond to some and get pics of my car and plate posted.
Bye 4 now,

Love that Gary! I was going to switch to the creme PT after driving my Black Convert for a couple of years, but when a friend gave me gorgeous shiny chrome rims as a gift, I didn't think they'd stand out as much on the white because they really say WOW on the shiny black, especially with the top down. Now that I see your white I'm contemplating it again. Tough choice and love the story on that cool nameplate!

Karen,
Namaste (never knew anyone familiar with the term Namaste, something I learned from my guru Deepak Chopra), loved that you used it and I'm guessing the plate is PEACE & LOVE?? Let me know! Makes one want to move to CA among other things for the choices in vanity plates! I love the ability to use hearts, etc. Connecticut needs to get the with the program. We have ones for Pets, the Environment, etc, but the heart is just the best!! Love the white PT too!
Bye 4 Now,
Joy

When I was sitting at my computer in 1999, I was convinced I would get the Pronto Cruizer and then that went into the PT thoughts.

I wanted to name my PT for what I wanted to do with it, so 4CRUISN came to mind and I have forever been known as im4cruisn since the beginning of this long strange ride, known a PT Cruisin'!!

Congrats on the new PT Joy.....you're in for a good time!!CheersCheeringDanceHat

I have California Disabled plates and don't think they offer vanity plates options for that type of plate. I had such a problem in the past getting the plates approved, (even though I drive with hand controls and am confined to a wheelchair) that I am afraid to even ask.

CheeringHi Joy, good topic, thanks. I think my plate is not very original but it is very well known. I think most people on the forum know PETE 41.The PETE is self explanatory, the 41, ahh, the mystery of the 41. Had a lot of fun with that. 41 is my birth year, not my age. I was always honest but kept a few guessing for awhile, lol. Nice to have you join this forum, Mickey41 Wave
