Pillar trims on 2004 Can't Post

Just bought a 2004, but the pillar trims are kinda weird.
I like em, but they look like they need replacing.
Are they supposed to be irridescent?

I can only find chrome ones to replace them, but
don't like chrome. Any ideas on what to do to
make them look better?

Thanks ~

Wave

CheersIt sounds like you have the infamous foggy pillar problem which results from frequent car washes.Get mother's Back to Black in any auto parts store, use a little elbow greese, and they will come clean. You can also use claybar to solve this also.PeaceOut......Mike

Wax them .That will take out the Blurs....

Never ever use Armor all or similar products on them..They are plastic and they will streak and look like mixed oil and water on the sidewalk if you do .... as you already see Frown

I agree with AU, wax the pillars.
I usually use a cleaner wax on there, use a very small amount and rub it till there are no spots/streaks left in the plastic. Then let it haze up and buff it off with a clean towel. Works like a charm! Smile

I also concur. I wax the pillars just like the rest of the cars finish. Keeps them looking great.

CheeringWhat good news. I was going to replace my black faded pillar posts with chrome but after reading this, I am off to the auto parts store. Thanks, Guys. You saved me some money. MICKEY

Hey, BTW, What works best on the black plastic pieces like the washer nozzles, mud flaps and mirrors that have gone grey? I would to find something that lasts. Armour All or tire shine products don't do it (at least those that I have tried). Maybe I should try something in a rattle can?
