A friend of mine did a test of his codes and one came up 0344 ,now the qustion is, what is it. One of the codes said something about loose catalyst. The car has an awful miss and back fires,He changed the plugs and the coil and the wires last year so he has no Idea what it could be. It's a stick and non turbo. ---------- big jim

Cut & pasted from the Chrysler shop manual, I have heard of quite a few Camshaft Position Sensors going bad on older/high mileage PTs, item 6 in the list of possible causes and they are pretty cheap and easy to install: Symptom: P0344-CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR INTERMITTENT When Monitored and Set Condition: P0344-CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR INTERMITTENT When Monitored: Engine running or Cranking. Set Condition: When the failure counter reaches 20. One Trip Fault. POSSIBLE CAUSES GOOD TRIP EQUAL TO ZERO WIRING HARNESS INSPECTION (K7) 5 VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT OPEN OR SHORTED TO GROUND TONE WHEEL/PULSE RING INSPECTION CHECKING CKP SIGNAL WITH THE DRBIIIt LAB CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR (K44) CMP SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN (K44) CMP SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND (K44) CMP SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO B+ (K44) CMP SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO (K7) 5 VOLTS PCM ---------- '05 GT Dream Cruiser Series 4.
