Question on BOV

I'm looking at buying the Mopar BOV valve for my 03 GT. Whats involved in changing it, and will a normal set of wrenches be able to preform it? Also, will you actually be able to hear the psstt from the blow off valve? I have to floor it for the turbo to spool up enough to have the BOV go off. I'm also looking at getting new plugs and wires (plugs are a definite but I need money for them first ;) ) I'm looking at buying: http://www.ptcruiserclubstore.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21_31&products_id=1216 and http://www.ptcruiserclubstore.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21_231&products_id=2082 . Also, depending on how I drive (Lunatic vs old lady) I can get almost 300 miles to a tank (as an old lady) and 225 miles per tank as a lunatic. I currently have the Mopar Borla exhaust kit from the factory, but I plan to do more when I get the time (and money) My Dad purchased a Stage one for his 03 and he loved it. ---------- 2003 GT Cruiser Fully Loaded Borla Dual Exhaust K&N Drop In filter Viper Remote Start/ Keyless entry

Welcome Madkat, Yes, you can add the Mopar BOV plate with ordinary hand tools, just make sure you have it aligned properly as per the directions......and there is one bolt that can be a PITA. You will hear the "Pffffft" for sure when it's on correctly. If it were me, I would do the plugs (and wires- like Crane or Magnecore) before the BOV since it's the best bang-for-the-buck upgrade you can do to a PT. I strongly prefer copper plugs, as platinum-tipped varieties have been problematic in the turbos. Best of luck, Brian ---------- 5-speed Dream Cruiser S2 #1582 with MP S1 & BOV, Plastic Intake Manifold, rear Eibachs, Supertrapp axle-back exhaust, Crane FireWires & K&N drop-in. Plastic Chrome AMX TTAB AGP UCP and H&R Coilovers coming soon.
