Does anyone have the rear mopar wing installed on their verts? I was wondering how it looked, install cost etc...check out the spoiled vert jpg I attached...radical look eh! One thingm it looks as if it may block the rear stop signal light, may not be good for tough NJ inspections. ---------- 2005 Touring Edition Convertible Turbo 2.4L LITE Automatic, cool vanilla, faux Street Edition badging, K&N drop in filter, modded airbox, mini-chrome side flames, chrome gas cap cover, customized rear mud flaps, flying siberian husky fur when top dropped.

Much thanks...it does not look so bad from this angle. I think a wing that sort of starts from the sides of the PT and wraps full around to the back in "one attached to the body" piece will look better. ---------- 2005 Touring Edition Convertible Turbo 2.4L LITE Automatic, cool vanilla, faux Street Edition badging, K&N drop in filter, modded airbox, mini-chrome side flames, chrome gas cap cover, customized rear mud flaps, flying siberian husky fur when top dropped.

I bought mine when they first came out and people at the car shows seem to like it, & after seeng it on the car I would not have a vert without one, this is the only picture I have but you can see it pretty well, Also after looking at mine, I don't think that you would be able to mount a different style on the body with out interfering with either the trunk lid or the convertible top, unless it was a 3 piece wing. also it does not block the 3rd brake lamp at all, it is legal in all 50 states.

Butch, Nice lookin' rag-top you have there. I've got a DC4 that's always at the restaurant I go to every Saturday for breakfast. I swear that it hasn't been washed since the day it was built. Thought it had some custom black rims -- then I figured out that it was just brake pad dust. What a shame... ----------

So whilst examining this awesome picture, I was wondering what tire you have on this grand specimen? The tread looks rather hot. Also is that a Borla or BTG exhaust? How is the sound with this dual exhaust in the vert, too loud, or is it ok compared to stock? ---------- 2005 Touring Edition Convertible Turbo 2.4L LITE Automatic, cool vanilla, faux Street Edition badging, K&N drop in filter, modded airbox, mini-chrome side flames, chrome gas cap cover, customized rear mud flaps, flying siberian husky fur when top dropped.

The wing is awesome. That was probably the third mod I did. Dual exhaust is as loud as you want it to be. Mine's obtrusive and nasty. just the way I like it, but I'm only running one resonator, no cat

That is a sick ride bud! Very tricked out. I just put some magnetic chrome mini-Billet flames near my door logos as well as a chrome gas cap. I think that is as far as I will go in modding the body. I like it as is and the rear wing doesn't look like a natural part of the car IMHO. I doooooo want that style of PT chrome wheel though. The cookie cutter look of the touring edition wheels are a bit blah to me. Also a nice Borla dual exhaust and tage 1 is all I am gonna do. :-) But I like all your mods, very hot. ---------- 2005 Touring Edition Convertible Turbo 2.4L LITE Automatic, cool vanilla, faux Street Edition badging, K&N drop in filter, modded airbox, mini-chrome side flames, chrome gas cap cover, customized rear mud flaps, flying siberian husky fur when top dropped.

Sorry for the delay in responding, I have been in the hospital again!, Anyway the tires are BFGoodrich g-force T/A KDW2's 215/50x17, which is a "Ultra High Performance Summer Tire", (I do not drive in the snow or ice, as I am retired and don't need to get out, and if I do I take my wifes '05 PT sedan that has all season tires on it) The exhaust is the newer 2005 version of the BTG System, I also have the larger than stock BTG down pipe that has a hi performance hi-flow cat., and also the exhaust has 3 resonators, (no muffler), and is very quiet until you floor it, with the top down it is also very quiet, even my wife likes the way it sounds, at idle it is not much louder than a stock GT exhaust until you take off. ---------- '05 GT Dream Cruiser Series 4. Thanks for responding, very glad you are out of the hospital and hope all is ok. Now, for the car...those tires won't work for me as we drive the PT vert sparingly in the winter. But, I would liek to know exactly what, where you got the exhaust from. What all the parts are as I would liek to replicate it on my touring turbo. I want an exhaust that is about the same at idle but will rumble when accelarating... The price on paint will probably depend on what color you have, If you have one of the multi stage "Pearl Coat' colors, or just a color base coat, with a clear coat top finish. Mine was the 3 stage, Pearl base coat, Metallic color coat, & then the clear coat finish, (I have the Hot Lava Red Pearl Coat" on my DC4 and it was around $145.00 and I installed it myself, if you do not have the tools or do not want to install it yourself I can't believe they would charge you more than 1 hours labor, as it only took me about 20 minutes to do mine. ---------- '05 GT Dream Cruiser Series 4. We'll I have an 06 that is Marine blue pearl. I'm guessing the pearl in the name means it has a pearl coat. I'm sure I can install it myself. On the mopar website it shows a different hinge system to make sure the spoiler doesn't hit the car when the trunk is open and they tried to sell it to me at the dealer. Is it neccessary? I have never heard anyone on here mention it. Thanx ----------

I have never heard of another "hinge kit", if you mount it properly with the templates there is no place for it to hit there is plenty of room all around it, i know at least 10 others at the PT shows that also did not need or use any such kit. and yes you have a multi stage paint color. ---------- '05 GT Dream Cruiser Series 4. Well first, you said "Hinge kit", not gas prop strut, and that is the first mention I have ever seen this, and of all the ones I have seen and talked to the owners about them at the shows, nobody has ever had to buy any extra parts,I have had mine for two years and they are not listed in the 2005 Convertible accessory catalog, with the wing, so either they changed the desighn with the newer ones, and they need to use a different rod, It also says "Provides adequate lift gate to spoiler clearance" (how would a different strut help, as the spoiler is bolted directly to the lift gate/trunk lid), the strut goes from the body to the lift gate, so I don't know, it is very confusing. I just know I installed my own spoiler and have no clearance problems what so ever, ask around to others who have installed the wing and see what they say.. ---------- '05 GT Dream Cruiser Series 4. It means when u open the trunk that the spoiler won't get smashed on the car. I live in a small town and the chrysler dealership is a little old fashioned. They didn't even know what an Ipod was so I don't want to depend on them for my answers..... hehe ----------
