Removing seat belt guides Can't Post

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has removed their seatbelt guides on the headrests? I find them to be a hassle, and an eyesore. Does anyone have some thoughts on this? Are there any links to a site with instructions on how to remove them?

Also, is there a service manual available for the 05 GT yet?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey 2005GT- You've got a nice looking convertible. Yeah, the guides are a pain and you would think Chrysler could have come up with a better idea than just a "slit in plastic". Check out the link below for manual. Hope this helps and enjoy your ride!Cheering http://www.wyckoff-mopar-parts.com/ptcruisfacse.html

If you pull the head rest out of the back of the seat and there are 2 c-clips that hold it on. Pop the c-clips off and slide the seatbelt guide off. That is all.

Hey, thanks a lot for the link to the service manual. And for the compliment! Also, I figured out how to get the headrests off, finally. There is a "button" on the opposite plastic collar from the one that has the adjuster button on it. You push in on that AND the regular button at the same time, and lift up. The heac rest will come off, and you can then easily remove the seat belt guide! I am still going to get the service manual, though as I am not nearly through with tinkering with this car!

WaveThanks for the idea and doing the hard work of figuring out how to do it. We never use the guides because we have this big standard poodle who owns the back seat and has to get in and out. I still managed to poke myself with the screwdriver I was using to remove the C clamps though of course.

Loved your quote about the big standard poodle owning the back seat...Our golden retriever (River) owns our back seat! YOU, of course, do not have fur flying when the top is down, do you??? We do! But we love the furry beast even when we are picking the fur out of our smiling mouths as we sail along. Just might try to take those seat belt guides off, too. It is a hassle getting in the back with them.

I would guess the only problem with re-attaching the seat belt guides would be if you bent the c-clamps when removing them. Cheap to replace if needed, so I'd say it would be easy.

No shedding is certainly an advantage of poodles. In fact some rental houses we've used waive the pet fee as a result. Truth be known, one of the reasons we got the PT was for it's back seat room, for human passengers of course don't you know.
