A few questions about the service manual...

  • What is your opinion on investing for this manual?
  • Besides being useful for a technician, how can be useful for the owner?
  • How many pages?
  • Hard cover, soft cover, binder?

Thank you!

Claude...

I read somewhere that it was about $100 [us]. I plan on getting one, because I take my car to a small auto shop down the street whom I trust implicitly to do a good job.. and not rip me off

I already told him he was getting one for Christmas.. LOL!! Told him to cuddle up with it during the long winter and read it, because it doesn't take me too long to rack up 36,000 miles, unfortunately

I havent decided on an extended warranty yet, but many folks seem to be trying to convince me that it's the way to go with the cruiser.

It may sit on the bookshelf for a year or more, but there will come a time, for reasons you probably would never guess, that you will consider it one of your best investments. I have bought one with every new car I have purchased, including my wifes car, That's around 8, and I have usually kept the cars from 5 to 9 years. Have never regreted getting an SM. I think my first one cost around $20, but then I'm old. Spend some of the money you saved, by not getting suckered into an Extended Warranty contract, on a Service Manual. You won't regret it. Think of it as a 2" thick insurance policy .
Good Luck

Green Macheen-
Are you calling me old too? I remember $20 service manuals. I represent that!

Old is a state of mind. I normally experience that state early in the morning, and when people ask me when my PT will arrive. What I meant to say was well experienced. However, I have my suspicions

Well my suspicion is that the PT will serve as a fountain of youth. I sure feel like a little kid waiting for it.

Old comes at any age, it is when you go from one room to the next and forget why you went there in the first place. Thank god I remembered why I went to McCune Chrysler back in February.
