Someone Stole Something Off My Brand New PT. Need Help...

Someone low lift goofball stole the fog light grill on my PT. The grill that is in the place of the foglights. I cant find this any where and my dealership wants 60 bucks for it because they say without the original, they cant warranty it. What a load of BS. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement??? I looked through Ebay and they dont even have it. Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

Sorry to hear about your loss. It seems like there is always somebody out there that will steal anything that isn't nailed down.
Maybe this is a "Sign" that you should install some real foglights on your car. It could be just this old man's cataracts, but I think that the extra lights on my '01 Limited really do help to illuminate the road on a dark night.
Since you say "Off my brand new PT", I'm assuming that you have an '06. I noticed a post on this site today that says that there is a new aftermarket Mopar kit for these lights for the '06-07 models. The poster said that her local dealer wasn't aware of it, but here is a link that she provided to the item on eBay:

I am assuming you mean the black cover....?? What year do you have, because I have mine still. I just put foglights in awhile back..If you have an 01-05 I should have what you are looking for. I don't want to make any money from them, just let me know what year it is and if they are the right ones I send them to you. post here or email me.

It's an 06, so Im not sure if they'll work. If they would, oh man, you'd be a life saver. I really do thank you for the offer. I'll look into if they'd fit and get back to you. Again, thanks.

So you think you have a problem, Listen to this one. Last Thursday morning around 4:30 am some low life broke into my 4x4 Quad Cab Dodge Ram 1500 ThunderRoad Hemi powered and stole it. Now that was bad enough but it was parked beteen the Silver Eagle our 01 PT, and Crzrspt, our 06 Convertible. They pushed the 06 backwards 6 feet and the 01 forward about 6 feet. Doing damage to both. Then they side swiped my Wife's 01 Buick Century .Today all three were flat bedded to the body shop for repair. As of today no news about the truck. The police think it was cut up for parts. When I called 911 the operator ,She asked me if I could give her a discription of the person who stole my truck.I said that If I had gotten that close I wouldn't need a discription .,They would new the State Coroner.I had four County police cars there in less then four minutes.

Man... I thought I had a bad day  It's true what they say... there's always someone out there who has it better than you, and someone out there who has it worse than you. Unfortunately you have it waaay worse.
I hope they find your truck intact. My PT was stolen back in December '03. It was recovered mid-January '04. There was very little actual damage as most of it was scuffed up paint and my leather interior had some scratches that leather dye concealed. Little joy riding b@sta@rds who stole it smoked in it too.
Funniest thing was that one of them used their debit card to buy gas and left the receipt in the glove box. Dooh!

Hope you have better luck than I did this morning. I went online and found a yard within driving distance that had three PT's, including one '01 LE. I wanted a high note horn and called to inquire. I was quoted $30.After thinking about it, I called back to ask if they would do any better if I drove down there and removed it.I was told that: a)no one is allowed into the yard for insurance reasons and b) the minimum price for ANY part (even a knob from the dash) is $30. Is this common practice these days? I had not looked for used parts from a salvage yard for years.

Yes, it's common practice. I am looking for rims/wheels for mine since I lost two in a pothole over the weekend. It's impossible to find used cruiser parts - especially wheels. Our local junkyards don't even have cruisers. I'll keep an eye out for you though....

Last junkyard I went to was in PA years ago, they had many. many cars whic they nicely grouped...at the time I had a 240z, they had several junked Z-cars all in a row and we were able to just pull what we wanted. Even pocketed a few knobs and stuff. Seems those days are over. But I am amazed there aren't more junked PT's as there are so many of them...guess they just keep on tickin!

is that a bad thing? that would mean that PT's are falling apart if theyre in junkyards. PTFLYER, i removed the foglight knocouts on my 06, becuase i put foglights in their spot, really made a difference at night. anyways, you can have them if you pay shipping, otherwise, free of charge. give me your addy and i can have them in the mail this weekend.

 Hi Jim after reading your post i won't ever B I T C H about my PT being broken into.They got my GPS and X-M radio but God is great.The window fixed for free,got a 3rd Generation x-m radio with extra paid 6 months for 30 dollars,and the refurbished catelog sent me a top of the line roadmate 700 GPS for 290 dollars.With the money saved had factory alarm upgraded too.Hope all turns out well........Mike

Two weeks after this guy stole my truck ,I was in my drive way putting a new cover on the Silver Eagle when I thought I heard this loud set of pipes coming down my street.(I live on a hill,) This clown was driving my truck and he had his arm out the window. .I got in my house got my cell phone locked the house up.(there was a lot of traffic that day0 and I got into the rental car and followed him around for three Hours. Once I stopped by the county Police station and they said Sorry we have no one who can help you at this time. I got back in my rental and followed this guy all over the place.One time a cop was in front of my house and he was talking to my wife ,so I stopped ,He asked me what color red my truck was and I said to him ,Do you see that truck that just went down the street ,he said yes.I said well that's my truck. He looked at me for a second ,got into the police car and the guy got away. Finally I found an off duty cop who called in the discription of my truck. (911 was a waste of time. One time I was behind the guy and I called 911 and the operator asked me ,what color were his eye's I told her that I couldn't see them because the windows were tinted and it was dark out. Finally two state police Choppers showed up they found the truck and the driver. They found eight back up cops from the local coffee shop and they stopped my truck. Get this. When they stopped him one of thwe cops opened the drivers door and he punched the cop and got away. He left behind a seventeen year old girl and an other passanger. There were three different kind of drugs in my truck. And he lived two blocks from by house. He put 278 miles on my truck. broke the gas cap. And did a total of $16,000 damage to the cars and the truck in my drive way. Every thing has been fixed .And he is now in jail. Seems he was on parole and only 19 years old. He never had a second trail they just added the time on his sentance. 20 years Plus.

The image of a PT in a junkyard is horrific. I hope I never see such a sight in this life nor the next. Please try EBay. I found 2 hubcaps and a CD player for my 2000 Ford Focus there, and the sellers were nice people to deal with.
