Yes, the VIN will need to be programed either by the selling dealer or send it to Flight Systems Inc., (the Mopar Vendor programmer), Some Dealers can do it if they know what they are doing and want to do it. Just make sure the one you buy is for the right year PT and if for an auto or stick trans. ---------- '05 GT Dream Cruiser Series 4. No.1109 My Mods PT Trailer Project Our PTs

I wouldn't bid too hard. These are year specific and that one says 2004. Won't work if you are thinking of putting it in your '05. If you can find one used you can send it to Flight Systems to program for your car. That's what I did. ---------- 2003 Inferno Red GT, 5spd, Stage 1, custom intake pipe, VAK UCP, Airaid Intake, Borla exhaust and a bunch of other stuff.

I just bought a Jet Performance Stage 1 from Ebay for $135.00 and the installation took about 5 minutes. When I bought from ebay, it said that it was for the 2003 turbo and the auto transmission. Here's the problem, I can definitely feel the difference but now my auto stick does not work. It changes gears fine in drive but I do not have the auto stick anymore. The instructions also say that the check engine light should come on??? Mine didn't. Did I get taken on Ebay??? ---------- Todd & Miriam Hoffmaster OEF Veteran Retired Air Force Future Goodyear, AZ Police Officer

After talking to Jet Performance I was told that the chip that I bought was from the first batch of chips and that they were only for the manual transmission vehicles. So now my recourse is to get the ebay buyer to take it back So, beware fellow ebay shoppers - it's not worth it! Yeah, I learned that lesson long ago. On occasion you will find a great deal on something, but the rule of thumb is that you get what you pay for. To be honest, I didn't know the PCM's were different for manual or auto transmissions. ---------- 2004 Black GT 5-Speed, Stage 1, Hurst Short Throw Shifter, Booger Bushings, 10mm Magnecor Wires, Iridium Plugs, Sun Hyper Ground System, Screamin' Demon Coil, Chrome Accent Group, Chrome Door Handle Scuffs, Fire Engine Red Brake Calipers, Blane Hood Lift Kit, Chrome Engine Caps, 8-Ball Shift Knob, 8-Ball Valve Stem Caps, 8-Ball Door Lock Pulls, Fuzzy 8-Balls on Rear View Mirror, Joe Boxer 8-Ball Floor Mats, Beltronics RX65 Radar Detector, Airaid Cold Air Intake, AMX1397 Turbo "Up Pipe", Mopar Blow Off Valve, Chrome AooGah Horn.

I didn't know that they were different, either. This module will work on the manual transmissions and when Chrysler came out with the autostick, Jet had to modify their modules to work with it. Which is why I did not have to reprogram my car after the install. ---------- Todd & Miriam Hoffmaster OEF Veteran Retired Air Force Future Goodyear, AZ Police Officer

You put the Jet chip on a turbo car instead of buying Stage 1 from Mopar? When you go the cheap route you reap what you sow. Mopar stage 1 gives you crisper shift points and power throughout the powerband whereas the Jet chip is only good for WOT and does nothing for tranny shifts. If you went up against a Mopar stage 1 equiped car you'd see nothing but tailights and would lose by several car lengths. Why do you think you see those chips on ebay all of the time? ---------- 2005 Stone White SRT4 2004 Graphite Auto
