The newer unnumbered series "Street Cruisers" are not numbered like the "Dream & early Street Series 1,2,3,4, Cruisers" were, (like when we had "Dream Cruiser" Series 4 the UK had "Street Cruiser" Series 4 etc, see attached photos), the Street Cruisers are a short run variation like the Woody, Platinum Edition, Chrome Edition, Walter P. Chrysler Edition, etc. although they are marked with a non numbered Series "Street Cruiser" badge on the hatch and a side door badge with the type Rt66, PCH, & SB editions, that the others did not have.

After Production of the '08 run is over you can contact Chrysler and they will let you know how many were produced.Smile

They are very good about this as I found out when I researched my '05 DC4 a couple years ago.Smile

Here is a link as to what is in the SB edition http://www.chicagoautoshow.com/...3&vehicle_id=101

Approximately 500 Sunset Boulevard Editions wil be made. Unfortunately starting with the '06 Route 66 edition, there is no limited edition number tag to see which one you have. The Sunset Boulevard Edition package is based on a Base model PT. The extras it has are mostly chrome and a sunroof. The complete package listing is at chrysler.com. Try to build and price a base model and choose Sunset Boulevard Package to see every option available for that model, it will even give you an estimated price and the nearest one to your location.

Re: [duck] Sunset Blvd. Ed. ? Can't Post

I googled Sunset Blvd. PT Cruiser and came up with this. One of our local members just bought one and had a hard time describing the color as well. She said Rootbeer - but they described it as maroon (their naming of colors has often been a mystery to a number of us over the years). We look forward to seeing it in person so we can decide what color WE think it is!!! She is quite excited. Her first brand new car ever.
Here's what I found via internet:

Whoa, Mama: Chrysler's 2008 PT Cruiser Sunset Boulevard Edition

Chrysler has announced yet another spinoff for its aging PT Cruiser: The Sunset Boulevard Edition. The SBE gets Sunset Crystal paint – maroon is probably the best descriptor – along with a little more chrome, 16-inch wheels and a moonroof. The interior adds a few chrome fittings and custom fabric seats. Under the hood … is the Cruiser’s base 150-hp four-cylinder.
Prices begin at $16,010 with a stick shift, and an automatic sets you back another $825. Both figures represent about a $1,000 premium over the regular PT Cruiser. Chrysler says 500 SBEs will be built.
Ad nauseum? You decide: This is the 11th spinoff for the aging Cruiser, which hasn't gotten a major redesign since early 2000. We're not sure what Chrysler wants to do with the car, but if the latest edition is any indication, it will be on life support for at least a little while longer.

If they would only listen to the paying public...

Yes, redesign is in the works. Don't we know it!

Cheering Hi, concerning color, I would like to know what it is called as well. Saw one and I think a good name would be cinnamon. It was a really pretty color. Mickey Wave

Hi,
The color is call Sunset Crystal Pearl. Its basically a limited touring package. It would of been real nice if a turbo was an option on it. They are selling them out here in So.Calif, at $14500.00.

There are about 3 or 4 Sunset Boulevard Editions that I know of here in NM with pricing in the neighborhood of about $19,100.

Re: [lacounty] Sunset Blvd. Ed. ? Can't Post

Hi Charlie,
I'm right down the freeway from you here in Corona. I purchased my 06 from Ontario.....I went and looked at the SBE at Riverside and they are selling them after rebate for 14515.00. But I was disappointed that it didnt have turbo as an option. So its just a limited touring package....but the color sure looks nice....and yes..I would call it Rootbeer...
I will be at the Laughlin meet in March...I was there last year and it was my first PT show....The cars were amazing....

Take care..

Re: [sent1] Sunset Blvd. Ed. ? Can't Post

CoolHi SentWave.Chrysler had the right idea in 02 and 03 when it came out with some dynamite concept models and actually would sponsor events to show them and ASK US !!!!!! what we thought......Gee what a Novel IdeaROFL.This is just the same old same old.The SBE color is nice but I hate to break the news to all the SBE owners, just look at the Tangarene Dream Series 2.I know alot of people who spent alot of $$ buying one when Chrysler said that the color would only be available on the DS 2 which was a limited production car.Guess What???? Chrysler lied and now it is a color option because the color was popular and they could cash in.We shall see but I wouldn't hold my breath on that 500 model run either. The jury is still out on the "New Chrysler".Peace Out and God Bless........Mike
