Hello Clive, My earlier reply to this post referred to a comparison I made to these two retros at "save the pt petition" post. I wanted to add a couple of other considerations that were not included in that comparison. After driving mini vans for years, I wanted something that felt more recreational. Both my wife and I felt like the PT did a better job in that category. A plus for the HHR was the cargo area conversion. When you fold the seats down, it forms a level, hard, durable, plastic surface. Very nice....yet in my case this was not to the HHR's favor. I need all the space I can get in avehicle as small as these two. Removing the seats in the PT actually tilts the advantage back to the Cruiser. Now for most people, the HHR configuration would probably be fine, but with all of the equipment I haul around for my business, it mattered. I thought the seats compared favorably, but the dash and instruments were a shut-out for the Cruiser. When you drive these two vehicles, the dash is what you see looking back at you. The PT 's dash is a tasteful update of an era gone by.......I love the little analog clock! I'm not sure what they were thinking when they designed the HHR's dash. I'm sure if there were no PT Cruisers around, I would be the happy owner of an HHR......but, fortunately for me Chrysler produced a rare winner. ---------- CajunCruiser "Tacky.....yet delightfully unrefined!"

Well, just yesterday at the All American Chevrolet dealer here in town (while I was having my new PT Spoiler installed), I looked at two of the HHR's while I was waiting for my car to be finished. Now, you're probably asking why I went to the Chevy dealer to have my PT worked on, well... they own the Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge dealer as well and that's where the body shop is. Anyway... While I was checking them out, one of the salesman came over and insisted I test drive one to see how much nicer they are compared to my PT. I knew I was going to have to be there a while anyway so I thought... what the heck! He pulled it out of the showroom and away we went. He drove first, then it was my turn. I didn't care for it at all. The view is bad out the rear window, no "Get up & go" and it had too much road noise as far as I'm concerned. I think they're a bit pricey and a cheap "knock off" of the PT Cruiser. The funny thing was, the bodyshop foreman admitted it was copied after the PT. If they offered me two of them in place of one PT, I'd have to take them... sell them both and buy me a new PT Cruiser & have money left over for a nice vacation! ---------- "Just Cruisin' Lite."
