That Pit of the Stomach Feeling Can't Post

FrownFrownFrownFrownFrownFrownFrownFrownFrownFrown
Jan. 28th at 7:04 P.M (CST) The Silver Eagle and I were involved in a collision. We and a white Explorer were passing through an intersection when a Chevy truck ran his light and T-Boned the Explorer and pushed him over into us. I'm O.K. however, she's pretty banged up. All the sheet metal on the driver's side from bumper to tailight is smashed....mirror broken off, hood bowed............

She's still drive-able and brought me home 8 hours on the interstate tuesday. Her top seems to be bowed outside of the driver's rear quarter panel and who knows what other structural damage has occured. I have not tried to operate her top but will as soon as the rains dry up. I'll also post some pics when the weather clears.

The police didn't write anyone a ticket because the guy in the truck said that he had a green light (which is total B.S.). Anyway, all 3 insurance companies are having to fight it out but we're confident they'll find in our favor. I just hope that all is not lost when it comes to repairing her since the 05 convertible is a one of a kind year model for the PT and if they total her, I will not buy a new model PT due to disliking all of the redesigns they've done both to the exterior front fascia and the horrible Ford-ish interior.

Anyway, enough doom and gloom thinking....we're looking to the pessimistic side of it and can't wait to see her back on the road in all her shining splendor. Just wanted to inform everyone and I'll keep ya'll posted.

Yikes Rooster! I'm sorry to hear your new baby got scrunched! I'm so glad you are ok, cars can be replaced! I too dislike the changes made to the 06, I wish they would put the original design back. If they total your baby maybe you can find another 05!

From the original Silver Eagle to the 05 Silver Eagle ,That Sucks. While Chrysler was going nuts on Rebates and a friend of mine gave me his Chrysler discount so we bought the Silver Eagle a Sister. We are now the proud owners of a 06 PT Convertible, Non Turbo. It's Marine Blue. The name of the convertible is CRZRSPTafter our Shelty Cruiser. Man does she ride good and the turning is unbelieveable. I actually got 22mpg on the first tank. DanceDanceDance

That bites. I got rear ended, and was amazed it just dented the bumper. Congrats on the 06, too bad you couldn't find a new 05' still sitting on a lot. I know there are still quite a few around here with just dealer miles on them.

Glad your safe is th etop priority. And yes the 05 convertible is a one of a kind due to the changes...if the insurance doesn't come accross I would be surprised. Go shop for another 05 convert. I found mine as a demo at the dealer. You will find another if need be
Peace

That's the 05 Silver Eagle not the original Silver Eagle.

Sorry to hear about your car, but you might want to refrain from the '06 comments. Some of us are buying '06's and happen to think the improvements are all for the better. This is a PT Cruiser Club, correct - not an '05 and earlier club?

I think all comments/opinions are welcome here. As far as liking the changes made to the 06 it's all a personal preference. Some don't like the changes, some do.... that's great....

This statement above doesn't make any sense,Does anyone understand the point to it.I pesonally like the 06,In fact we own one. It's a Marine Blue Convertible.and we also own an 01 Known to everyone as the "Silver Eagle".If you don't know what is looks like go to the first issue of the PT Quarterly Magazine and look on page 76.
