Since I just found out my work gets me a slight discount on new cars, I checked some pricing today at Chrysler. Looking at the 2008s, I noticed, no GTs. Anyone heard anything about this? ----------

Could it possibly be that Chrysler is listening to us? We have been screaming for a panel model since 2002 so if they want sales to increase just build them and we will buy it.I also think that they should build the Pt like they did in 2001 without cutting corners.JCKid had a great statement when he said you can hear the difference in quality when you put a 01 and 07 together and just close the doors. One thing is certain,I hopefully will be driving Miss CRN forever more because the closest model to her is the Pacific Coast Highway Edition and that model doesn't have the leather interior or heated seats I have treasured so much in winter.God Bless.......Mike ---------- Mike Casabianca His: 2001 Black LE with Auto Transmission, BullDog Signs Flames, WeatherTec wind deflectors, cargo area mat, PT trash can, PT valve stem caps and Dart's coldair intake, chrome tail and headlight bezels, chrome bumper inserts, chrome license plate pillow, chrome fender trim, 1940's retro chrome on front and back fenders, door spears, chrome hatch door trim, chrome gas door, brushed chrome door sills, billet door pins, custom "BlueHaze" dash mat, MRK Group lugnut covers, dome light trim, etc. and the chrome goes on...... If you want to hear something strange ,In my neck of the woods we had two dealers side by side. The were both brothers .One had a Chrysler dealership ,the other had a Buick Dealership.. They both are in a small town ,not on a main road ,they never advertise in the newspaper. .Never have a huge end of the month sales. But this Passed Wednesday,The Buick dealer closed it's doors forever. The Chrysler dealer was leasing some of there lots to the Buick Dealer. Yesterday, those lots were full of Chrysler autos. I hope this starts a new trend for Chrysler. ---------- big jim

Hi Jim we can only hope that the new chrysler owners are finally listening to the consumer.I find it rather miraculous that dispite the benign neglect that the PT has suffered due to near zero product line developement in its run it remains the #3 seller in the chrysler prroduct line.Things now hopefully will only go up.All the best and God Bless.....Mike ---------- Mike Casabianca His: 2001 Black LE with Auto Transmission, BullDog Signs Flames, WeatherTec wind deflectors, cargo area mat, PT trash can, PT valve stem caps and Dart's coldair intake, chrome tail and headlight bezels, chrome bumper inserts, chrome license plate pillow, chrome fender trim, 1940's retro chrome on front and back fenders, door spears, chrome hatch door trim, chrome gas door, brushed chrome door sills, billet door pins, custom "BlueHaze" dash mat, MRK Group lugnut covers, dome light trim, etc. and the chrome goes on...... When was the last time you saw a commercial on TV for a PT Cruiser? Exactly how long has it been, months or years? It seems like forever since I saw an ad. But in spite of little advertising the car is Chrysler's number 3 seller? Can you imagine where the car would be if they built what we ask for and it was advertised once in a while? It seems that a lot of advertising dollars go to trucks and commercials about Stupid Truck Tricks. Man I am tired of it. ----------

I know the PT is never in and ad, print or TV. It is corporate thinking...push what is new and put he ad $ into what jr executives believe the public will want. That has been just my point, near zero advertising,a token 06 Redesign that gave us a "Towel Bar",and when you make a model with some nuts it is the first thing you cut from the product line.Seems to be each "Special Edition" now is little more than a new color paint and equiping them with options that were standard or enhanced option in the early 01 and 02 models. In my previous post the only way I could get things the closest to what I have in Miss CRN,a 01 totally loaded Limited Edition would be the PCH Edition PT.Even then I would still come up way short.God Bless......Mike ---------- Mike Casabianca His: 2001 Black LE with Auto Transmission, BullDog Signs Flames, WeatherTec wind deflectors, cargo area mat, PT trash can, PT valve stem caps and Dart's coldair intake, chrome tail and headlight bezels, chrome bumper inserts, chrome license plate pillow, chrome fender trim, 1940's retro chrome on front and back fenders, door spears, chrome hatch door trim, chrome gas door, brushed chrome door sills, billet door pins, custom "BlueHaze" dash mat, MRK Group lugnut covers, dome light trim, etc. and the chrome goes on...... OK Chrysler, Listen up. It's time for you new Beeees At Chrysler to stand up on home plate and hit a home run with the bases loaded. I think it's time that you guy's pay a little attention to your customer's who have bought your products. Alot of us want you to expand the PT models. How about starting with the Panel van PT. and the PT Pick up truck. And keep the convertible . I'd like to see a hard top model where the top comes off. What you really need is an engine that really gets what you Advertise or better. Just before the PT was released Motor Trend magazine had a story about the PT and they said then that it Got 25 in the city and 35 on the road. That was the main reason that I bought my 01 PT. What a lie that was. ..The PT is a good car, it just needs a more fuel efficiant engine. .People complain that the PT doesn't have enough power. I think my non turbo has plenty of speed. It just sucks gas. and everyone knows it. Even the people who want one but know the real story. Non of your products are any good on gas. And with the price of Gasoline going up The only car you are about to sell will be the Little old PT Cruiser. So think about what's ahead. ---------- big jim

Well, it's great to hear that Chrysler stopped and smelled the roses! This was the smart decision; I can see dropping the convertible, but that's not to say it wouldn't be a good idea to revisit the concept if they do the smarter thing and reengineer the PT Cruiser and come out with a second generation. Okay, Chrysler, the ball is in your court, now. You have a car which, with mostly benign neglect, still manages to be the 3rd-top seller of the line, and which inspired the largest auto manufacturer (for now ;)) in the U.S. to hire away its designer in order to try to catch that same lightning in a bottle, with surprising success (not to say I think the design itself is anywhere near as good, but the HHR is a success for Chevy, priving the concept still has legs, if only its owners encourage it to do so!). Now's the time to seriously start thinking about the future, and a clean sheet of paper. Keep the inspiration, but make it lighter, give it more power and better fuel economy, and when considering the idea of an "entry-level Chrysler," let the name "Chrysler" take precedence - don't think of "entry-level" to mean "cheap," but "affordable" in terms of a Chrysler, and don't skimp on fit and finish, nor on the level of equipment. Play it smart: if you don't think you know how to follow up on the unique design of the PT Cruiser, go outside and talk to folks like Chip Foose and others who've turned hot rods into high-tech and high-style coachbuilt classics. Don't try to homogenize the design with Chrysler "cues"; if anything, let the PT Cruiser lead the way to a new Chrysler identity. Spend some time at the Detroit Autorama, at a Good Guys event, at the Woodward Dream Cruise - heck, at the Peterson Museum. Look inside today's rods and see what can be done with interiors, and decide to spend the extra $5 per vehicle to have a unique radio and climate control faceplate! Go to House of Kolor and learn that there are colors other than silver this, metallic gray that, and muted earth tones. Not everyone is going to ask for an eye-popping retro mobile - but if you're going to commit to the sheetmetal, don't go halfway and spend the rest of the budget toning it down, inside and out. Give buyers a choice between My Father's Chrysler and Big Daddy's Rat Rod, and the entire spectrum in between. And when in doubt, think about extending the HEMI to half as many cylinders ... heck, it's already a 'four-cylinder' when it's cruising now. Gas isn't going to get any cheaper, but buyers are still going to want performance, and something unique to drive. Here's your chance! ---------- On a cellular level, I'm really quite busy!
