The new kid in the parking lot

I thought I’d take this opportunity to make my introduction here. In October I bought the Series 2 Dream Cruiser that you see below. I’ll be up front with you and admit that my getting this car was completely by chance. Until I took it for a test drive I had never heard of the Dream series. As for technical talk, I will be of no use here. I am not mechanically inclined. My reasons for buying this car were strictly due to my loving the looks and it’s a real fun ride. The only mods I’ve made are snow tires on 16 inch rims and a vanity plate. Other than that, after the free satellite radio subscription expires I may install an ipod ready CD player. So there you have it in a nutshell. I’m pretty much a shallow bloke who finally bought a car that turns a few heads. After two months I still wake up in the morning, look out the window at my car and smile. Amazingly, I have yet to get a speeding ticket despite my having fun with the turbo while listening to the growl of the side pipes. Now, I’m waiting for summer so I can park down by the beach. Until then, I’ve even created a web page for it, so take a look if you feel so inclined. ----------

Congratulations on the Series 2 Dream Cruiser. I have had mine for four years now with 64,000 miles on it. It has been a great car, and I still love driving it. And now you have the benefit of "cruising". I have met so many nice people and been to places I never would have thought to go. All because we share an interest and attachment to a great little car. Hopefully there is a local club that you can join, and then start enjoying the car even more. ---------- Stephen 03 DC2 Autostick with PTeazer Classique Mesh grille and smoothie front bumper, PTeazer Rollpan, and custom pinstriped flames by Mike Clines.

Thanks Stephen for the greeting. I might have made my intro in the general forum but I didn’t want to be confused with the man who made such a poor first impression last week. As near as I can tell, there are no clubs in my area, which is too bad. There are are so many places that would be perfect for meets and cruises. Real close are the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, two lighthouses, an old fishing village and several great wineries. About a hundred miles north is the Mackinaw Bridge and driving up there in October makes for a wonderful color tour. Now, I wait for Spring to get here. When I bought my cruiser there were only a few days left this year with blues skies and warm temps. I have such a desire to go out again with the moon roof open. Last year at this time there was no show and 65 degree weather with sailboats out on the bay. That will not be the case this year as another bout of snow will arrive in 12 hours. Besides, these Dream Cruisers look so much better all clean and shining in the sunlight as opposed to covered with road salt and dreary clouds overhead. ----------

I'm out in California and we cruise most of the year...although things have slowed down quite a bit lately. Over the 7 years that I have owned a PT, I would estimate that we have been on close to 200 runs or "cruises" (maybe more), and it has been absolutely wonderful. Made some long lasting friendships, too. If I can get it to attach, here is a picture of my car in Pacific Grove (near Monterey) that I took in May this year. We just did a simple overnight cruise (6 cars total) to a Bed and Breakfast in Pacific Grove, then toured the beautiful 17 Mile Drive the next morning. Enjoy your car, and be safe. ---------- Stephen 03 DC2 Autostick with PTeazer Classique Mesh grille and smoothie front bumper, PTeazer Rollpan, and custom pinstriped flames by Mike Clines.

Nice photo. You can never go wrong with a big blue body of water in the background. I like the way the flames are subtle. At first glance they almost look like they’re a reflection. Very nice, indeed. ----------

Love your Cruiser and Love this Photo! Is it taken by the Grand Traverse Bay by chance? Me and my parents used to go up there during the summer vacations when I was little. Welcome to the club!

Hey, thank you and yes, that is West Grand Traverse Bay in the background of the photo. The shot was taken at the marina behind the zoo on one of the last nice days this fall. Actually, I say zoo only because it is a reference that you would be apt to remember. The zoo was closed down last winter and most of the buildings have been removed. The other buildings along the shore in that area have been torn down over the years; the canning plant, the power company and a few others. It is all owned by the City now and is called the Open Space. It’s nice that we now have a stretch of beach that we can enjoy. If you ever get back here you’ll be amazed at how much the area has changed. Like I said before, I lucked out when I chanced upon this car. There is one thing that I’ve noticed that really ticks me off, though. I park it away from the other cars so it won’t get dented from other people swinging their doors open. Yet, every time when I come back, there’s some rust bucket parked next to my Cruiser. Maybe what I need are some signs that say “Bio Hazard” that I can place around it when it’s parked. ----------

Welcome Wizard. Welcome to the DC2 Club. I think that the DC2 is the best looking one also.

Hi Dave and thanks for the welcome. Great photo. It looks like you lowered yours a few inches. I’ll bet you have the same concerns I do when pulling into an incline for an alley. If I didn’t have enough on my plate clearing the snow as it is, I’d think about putting a front air dam on mine. Still, I think I might be better off if I leaving well enough alone and avoid doing any mods. ----------

Being Low has its challenges but I love the look, one of these days I will do then Bags, but the Sport springs help smooth the ride. Enjoy the Dream and Happy Cruzing. ---------- http://community.webshots.com/user/davidrs100
