That looks like a bigger version of the Dodge Caliber. It has sort of a visual appeal to it. Who knows, if the price is right I may buy one of those when and/or if worse comes to worst with my PT. That won't be for at least 5 more years or 60,000 miles though, I hope.

Known by the code name JC49 for months, the Dodge Journey is actually based on an Avenger chassis with a wheelbase lengthened 4.9 inches.

This is the Dodge version of the 2010 PT.

FrownWell Dave, thank you for the info but I hate it, looks like a plain old sedan to me, like every other car. I admit the ice chest is fine but you can buy that. Please let Chrysler listen to us. Mickey Frown

If they decide to put the PT Cruiser name on that I will rebuild my PT for ever before I would ever put out money for that as a PT Cruiser. Man that would be a sad day in the life of Chrysler if that were to ever happen.MadFrown

A cooler full of pop between the seats *and* a couple of cold ones in the glove box?

How much cold soda do the occupants need?! Roll eyes

Is there a rest room hidden somewhere? Cheers

Yep it looks like a cross between a Caliber & a Magnum with the Avenger cooler idea. Still there is no classy design to it like our PT's!

I don't mean to stir up anything here, but I had a dumb question about this. If Chrysler does decide to clone the Dodge Journey and call it the new 2010 PT Cruiser, will the PT people still accept it? Will it still be seen and welcomed at events as a PT Cruiser since everything will be different?

Thoughts?
Opinions?
Comments?

Re: [LeoCruiser] Things to come Can't Post

Cheering Good question Leo, I do not think any PTC owner would embrace this and if it is accepted in our shows, I believe the shows will lose their appeal. That car- can not imagine it with mods on it, wouldn't that look a bit strange? All the things that some of the PTC people do, like lowering it, the displays in the back, Changing the grill, all that would disappear wouldn't it? How would the judging be handled with two different looks. They would have to have separate categories, Mods and No Mods, I guess. Maybe who was added mods to their ice chest would be a category. Just ridiculous, that this will happen. I would rather have our cars be discontinued than to have our name be put on a car, unrecognizable from mine. That is why I am so adamant about keeping the shape. Mickey

Re: [MICKEY41] Things to come Can't Post

I think they need to take the name PT Cruiser off of that thing. Whoever thought of putting PT Cruiser on that thing should be forced to put a new name on it. UGLY would suffice.

Better yet, sit him/her down, show him a picture of a PT Cruiser and say, "Now this is a PT Cruiser..." and then show the thing and say, "and this is ugly. PT Cruiser here...the ugly here..." until he gets so tired of seeing the ugly thing that he says, "Let me just go back to the original, I'm sick of this thing!"

Sorry, but why mess with a good thing unless you're going to improve it...which they aren't.
