Thinking about purchasing my first cruiser
|
Can't Post
|
|
I am going to the dealership Tuesday evening with the intent on buying a cruiser. They have a used 04 base with 30,000 miles for $9300 and an 07' base with 18,000 miles for $12500. Both seem to run great and I'm pretty sure I can talk them down about $500 on either. I would like some opinions on which I should get. Thanks, Chris ----------

Hi Chris.I would go with the 07.The 07,although used, still has the 3yr/36000 mile bumper to bumper warrantee, will have higher resale value, and you can probably bump them down on the price also.Welcome to the cruiser family and the PTCC......Mike ---------- Mike Casabianca His: 2001 Black LE with Auto Transmission, BullDog Signs Flames, WeatherTec wind deflectors, cargo area mat, PT trash can, PT valve stem caps and Dart's coldair intake, chrome tail and headlight bezels, chrome bumper inserts, chrome license plate pillow, chrome fender trim, 1940's retro chrome on front and back fenders, door spears, chrome hatch door trim, chrome gas door, brushed chrome door sills, billet door pins, custom "BlueHaze" dash mat, MRK Group lugnut covers, dome light trim, etc. and the chrome goes on...... Hers: 2003 Patriot Blue Woody with Automatic Transmission, Bulldog Signs Eeyore, Cargo area mat, WeatherTec wind deflectors, PT valve stem caps, PT trash can, "BlueHaze" custom dash mat, and chrome tailpipe extension, "Old School" wood shifter knob, wood and chrome door pins, MRK Group interior knob and switch covers, door surrounds, and dome light trim, chrome door surround trim, white eeyore window decals, smoothie hub cap, wood eeyore plaques ....and the Wood goes on http://community.webshots.com/user/mdcvmvc

Some dealers around East Tennessee are selling the base 07 around $10,000. I'm sure thats with all the discounts. ----------

You think I should try for $11,000 then? How do you usually go about it? Threaten to take you business elsewhere? ----------

Tell them they can do better on the price period and see where it goes.If he doesn't move take your buisness elsewhere ---------- Mike Casabianca His: 2001 Black LE with Auto Transmission, BullDog Signs Flames, WeatherTec wind deflectors, cargo area mat, PT trash can, PT valve stem caps and Dart's coldair intake, chrome tail and headlight bezels, chrome bumper inserts, chrome license plate pillow, chrome fender trim, 1940's retro chrome on front and back fenders, door spears, chrome hatch door trim, chrome gas door, brushed chrome door sills, billet door pins, custom "BlueHaze" dash mat, MRK Group lugnut covers, dome light trim, etc. and the chrome goes on...... Slowhand, Hi. take your time and use the internet to negotiate your price. This how I bought all my cars. I picked up my 2006 Base brand new 7 miles on it for 11500.00...then went the following month and made a deal for my brother-n-law's manual for 11300.00. Deal with them and check Kelly Blue book online for price....You should be able to get a 2007 for 11800.00 because this is year end.....Dont let them rush you... Good luck Mike ----------

If it was me, I'd tend to lean towards the '04. Especially if it's in excellent condition. The lower price helps (OK, I'm cheap ) and my personal preference for the pre-'06 interior and exterior styling. ----------

I pruchased the 04 for $9000. It has a better warranty and they wouldn't budge on the price of the 07. I figured the 07 must have been ran pretty hard anyways to have 18500 miles on it. Well I'm happy with the purchase. Thanks for all your help. ----------

Congrats on your new wheels. I have 2004 inferno red and I have been very happy with it. My wife and I are over here in Maui for the month of October and my cruiser is covered up safely in the garage at home. Enjoy that new ride, Charlie ----------
