So where are the REAL numbered models? How is this possible that this person has Dream Cruiser numbered emblems? And so many of them.

Same way you can buy "Rolex" watches or "Gucci" bags for $5-10 in Cannal St., NY. Welcome to the world of counterfeit. Wink

Seems like Dream Cruiser owners should notify Chrysler and demand that they prosecute the ebay vendor on the grounds that they paid a premium for their vehicles on the assumption that there were going to be a limited number of them produced and that this obviously is going to devalue their investment.

I'd be cool if Chrysler took action on that, but given their long-term commitment to the PTC... ROFL

Re: [pt dave] This doesn't seem fair... Can't Post

I checked a couple of the numbers he is selling with my Chrysler contact that gave me the production numbers when I researched the DC4s and was told that the those DC2s were never built, come to find out not all Dream Cruisers that the VINs are set aside for are ever built, some one on the inside must have found then in the trash or just plain stole them at the factory.

You can never really know how many of any car there is these days, as iI was also told by my contact/friend that 4 '05 DC4s were among some cars lost when several shipping containers they were in broke loose and went overboard in a bad storm in route to Hawaii sometime in late 2004 and are still at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.FrownI tried to get the production numbers for them but was told that was against the insurance companies legal policy to release that kind of info.

Re: [Dream 4] This doesn't seem fair... Can't Post

that's pretty funny. Chrysler was obviously a bit optimistic about sales of DCS2. There are only about 1500 of them that ever got built. I don't know the exact # of 2's because I didn't research them, but I know the last one is about 2000 units away from those ebay badges. Someone must have found them in the trash or something. Do Series 2 cars have sequential VIN's like Series3 or are they all over the place like series1?

Dave,

I would like to find another set to save for posterity.
I do have the originals from our car, which I took out out after 27K miles while they were still nice.
I've been running all-season mats in their place since then.
It makes me wonder how many sets above and beyond the actual DC2 production were made, and if there were a bunch........where the heck they are now

I got a guy near me that can perfectly replicate the DC2 mats. you'd never know the difference. they are pricey though. about 285.00 a set. he said price is due to the limited amount of tangerine thread he has that matches the stock thread. the company he bought it from went belly up. have you thought about taking your mats to see if they can get restored? by one of the companies that clean antique rugs and such?

I will try and see if they can. if not , might Haft to shell out $285 for a new set. Frown

As reported elsewhere in this forum-- 2189 DCS2's built in total.
