Shane, grand swamie of tires. Will a 215/55r 16 fit the mopar rim without any adverse side effects ? I realize there will be 1/2" difference in total diameter and can live with that. Your comments would be great.

A 225/50 is about 10k miles of wear smaller than the 205/55, but it's the size I'm switching too. The 215/55 would give you 1/2 the width increase of the 225/50 and the 215 is a taller tire, if that's what you want.
Good luck
John

You can fit these on stock rims? (225's?) I really need something wider & just so happen to have that size lying about in the garage! Have you checked for rubbing, etc? Thanks for any info!

My tire guy had a guide that list tire widths vs. rim widths. A 205 is the widest RECOMMENDED width for the stock 6" wide rim. You could go to a 215 on a 6" rim but it is not recommended. His guide showed range of 205 to 245 for a 7" rim. I am buying 7" rims. Plan to keep the stock 205's up front and buy a pair of 245's for the rear.
