Top down windows up rattle?

Hi everyone. I just got an 07 Vert on Sunday and I love it! I live in L.A. and we get sun almost the whole year so I'm looking forward to MANY topdown days. I have one issue though. When I'm driving the car with the top down and the windows up (front and back windows) and I go over a bumpy road I get a rattle from the windows. Specifically the the back windows. If I look at the windows from the back of the car (look at the edge) I can see that the two rear windows curve in just a little more than the front windows leaving a tiny gap. When the top is up the rattle goes away and the windows are flush. Is this normal? do all of your cars have the same thing when the top is down and the windows are up? Is there a way to fix it or is it just the way the car is designed?

I don't understand the reason for leaving the windows up if the top is down. I guess you can't read other peoples minds. If your too cold ,use your heater. The windows go down when the top goes down, It's made that way. That's why they go down when the top goes down. Besides it looks stupid to have the windows up and the top down. You'll never see me doing that. ---------- big jim

While I agree with silvereagle, my wife is more sensitive to temperatures and wind than I am. Guess I put up with wind and temp changes as I am a former MG owner, and back in my early 20s I'd have the top down on the MGA if the temp was much over 45F. But today in the PT Cruiser, when the missus is aboard I try to be considerate. I also noted the window rattle that asalmona reported. I have not heard of any correction to this. I would think they - at least the front (door) windows- are designed to be partially supported by the top - that's why when you open a door the windows drop a wee bit so they don't rub too hard on the edge of the top. We also got a wind screen and although not cheap I feel it was a worthwhile investment, especially at higher speeds. ---------- 2008 PT Cruiser Conv 5-sp
