UPDATED Southern New Mexico Casino Cruise

The Southern NM Casino Cruise........... Date : October 27-29, 2006 Where : Ruidoso Downs , NM...located 65 miles West of Roswell, NM on Hwy 70 Host Hotel : The Best Western Pine Springs Inn Call 800-237-3607 for reservations and tell them you're with the PT Cruisers. 40 Standard rooms are blocked @ $52.10 per night. ALL the rooms at this hotel have a microwave. The larger rooms listed below can not be blocked, so if you think you might want a larger room call now. You can always cancel them later. Here is what's available as of 6/28/06: *2 King Mini-Suites are available @ $79.00 per night. Non smoking only. *1 Deluxe King Suite is available @ $99.00 per night. This room has a twin hideaway in it. This is a smoking room. The non-smoking rooms are already reserved. This hotel is up in big Pine trees, and away from the traffic. All you'll hear are the deer munching on the grass and the bull Elk bugleing in October. The hotel is at about 6800' ft elevation. Ruidoso proper is at 8000' ft elevation. I have arranged for the other Best Western in Ruidoso to block additional rooms if we need them, at the same Standard rate of $52.10!! Each registration will include your goodie bag of one event T-Shirt, TWO tickets to the activities in Lincoln and Capitan, NM..... plus some really good goodies. Our Poker Run will take you thru Billy the Kid country and Smokey Bear beginnings. Fort Stanton, an old Civil War fort is near Capitan and is pretty cool. The Poker Run will take in 70 miles of New Mexico back country, with Ponderosa Pines and wonderful fall weather. Friday night will take us to the Billy the Kid Casino and Sat night will include the first class Inn of the Mountain Gods Hotel and Casino. Check them both out online. The address for the online registration is: http://www.easyshowreg.com/registration.php?sid=11 You must have valid info to register online....if you don't, then nothing gets processed or ordered. Registration fee $30 w/ a M-XL shirt....... XXL & XXXL sizes are $5 extra UNTIL September 15th, 2006. Registration will stay open till the day of the event, but there is a limit of 60 goodie bags. The limit on T-Shirts will be 72, and there will be only be XL and a very few XXL T-shirts available after 9/15/06. I will have extra T-shirts at the event for $15. The online registration is straight forward and VERY easy to use....you can pay with Paypal, or you can register and send me a check or money order. You can also print out the form and snail mail it, if you don't want to register online. There will be an optional choice on the registration form, which will be $5.00, for the Hubbard Museum. It is the last stop on the PoKer Run, but you will NOT have to buy a ticket to the museum, to get your card for your Poker hand. I set this up, in case you'd rather go shopping, go rest or whatever...the museum IS a world class museum, but Ruidoso has world class shopping too!! Some of the leather shops are frequented by famous shoppers, and the furniture shops are cool, the town's a lot like Sedona or Breakenridge. The sites around Ruidoso have websites, and if you need any of them....email me and I'll be glad to send them to you. The charity that the raffle profits and half of the 50/50 money are going to is the Equest Therapeutic Center, in Dallas, TX. Why Dallas you ask?!?! The center offers Hippotheropy, for physically challenged kids, and is close to my heart...one of the Autistic kids that attends there, is the son of a dear friend of mine. http://equest2.muerte.net/index.shtml..... Let me know if you have ANY questions!!! Sincerely, Lanette Giese ----------

Hi everyone....I would just like to remind those that haven't registered yet for the Casino Cruise, and to advise those who might be just now finding out about this event, that August 1st is the cut off for the discounted price. I set a limit of 90 goodie bags. I would also like to add that a group of the ones registered, are going to come to Carlsbad, NM after the event is over to go to the Caverns.
... .. .. .. . . .. ..... They have reservations at the Best Western Stevens Inn, here in town, and they will be going to the Carlsbad Caverns on the 30th of October. The Stevens Inn will put you with their group if you decide to extend your stay past the event. Make your reservations as soon as you decide....you can always cancel them. It is a busy motel, for good reasons, and I just don't want anyone to get left out. The website for the hotel is http://www.stevensinn.com/ Their toll free number is 1-800-730-2851 It's a nice motel with an exxxxxxcellent pool to sit around, (that's where I'LL be on Monday night with my friends!) and you will be able to park in front your room. It also has the Silver Spur Lounge and the full service Flume Restaurant, which the locals consider a good place to eat. (When you visit Carlsbad, you'll see why it's named The Flume.) Registration is going good and I'm glad everyone has enjoyed the online registration.

I'll do my best as far as the weather goes Tinkertoy!!! I'm looking forward to seeing the REALLY cool AZ cars, your being here is enough to make a person smile big!! The online registration is closed, but people can still register by mail or at the event.....you just won't be able to request a certain size T-Shirt in your goodie bag, but you'll get an XL with the event logo on it. There's only 60 goodie bags available and 72 T-Shirts, so get registered and put your name on one of them!! There's 28 cars registered, and another 3 cars expected to be there. 41 of the shirts are spoken for already. Can't wait to see everyone and I hope everyone has a safe drive coming to Ruidoso, NM!!

Hi guys! (This is the "EDITED" version, due to a brain glitch I had when I made the other post!!!! A silent auction doesn't CALL for a drawing- duh. ) I will be holding a silent bid auction for a $250 Gift Certificate from SpeedGraphics.net and the beginning bid is $1.00. Michael at Speed Graphics, sent me this gift certificate to be auctioned off, at the SNMCC, to someone who wants some graphics. Thanks Michael!! www.speedgraphics.net There is no minimum purchase required, no half off of an inflated price. This certificate is like having $250 in your hand! Be sure and check out their Slam Wraps....they're awesome!!! Anyone can bid....all valid emails will be accepted! (You will need to use the G.C. before 12/31/06) I will take silent email bids, to im4cruisn@mywdo.com from midnight tonight, October 6, 2006 until midnight October 25, 2006. Send me: Your Name Your Phone Number Your maximum Bid Amount I will be the ONLY person to view these bids, and myself nor my family will not be eligible. ALL the proceeds WILL go to the Equest Therapeutic Horsemanship Center, in Dallas, TX. Equest is also the recipient of any and all proceeds from the SNMCC. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE PRESENT TO WIN!! I will have another Director at my house, in Carlsbad NM, on the evening of October 25th....that Director will witness me print the highest bid from my computer on October 26,2006. That high bid will go with me to Ruidoso. The people AT THE EVENT will have the opportunity to place silent bids in a box for the Gift Certificate. The bidding will be stopped at 6:00 pm on Saturday October 28th. The announcement of the winner will be at the Southern NM Casino Cruise in Ruidoso, NM on Sunday morning October 29, 2006. If the high bidder is not present, I will phone you and mail you the certificate. I thot about this long and hard, and think this might be a fair way of using this certificate. After all the money is going to a VERY good cause, and I don't want it to go to waste. AND someone's PT will benefit.... Good luck and let the bidding begin!! ----------

I have gotten several emails/bids on this gift certificate- once again there is NO minimum purchase required. No inflated internet prices, like those muffler websites, to make up for the price of the G.C.. Just thot I'd clear those 2 things up, people are asking. Good luck! ----------

Well, the countdown is on.....T Minus 5 days till things start happening and the SNMCC begins. I hope I remembered everything.... .. . I'm sure the people will be having too much fun too notice if I did. I also found a video about the Equest Center near Dallas, that all my hard work is going to benefit from: http://equest.org/media/videos.html The proceeds from this event won't be hundreds and hundreds of dollars.....but $100 WILL buy 10 bales of hay, a couple of bridles or saddle pads. More importantly to me, it may help some child who's parents can not afford weekly visits, may benefit from an extra 3 visits because of good hearted Cruisers. I appreciate everything that everyone has done; all the vendors and/or individuals who have sent products, literature and gift certificates for this event and/or supplied much needed moral support! Meguire's Streamline Design Moss Motors Cruiser Motor Sports Langka Autovation PT Boutique California Duster Ruidoso Sierra Blanca Chrysler Ruidoso Chamber of Commerce PTOC Store SpeedGraphics.net Lone Wolf Outlaw Club Cactus Cruisers of AZ Frontier Energy Services New Mexico is a beautiful state, and I'm glad to share it with my fellow cruisers!! Cheers dears!! ----------

Everyone's gone and either on their way home or home. They all got to see Lincoln County of New Mexico, stompin' grounds of Billy the Kid and original home of Smokey Bear. The 43 cruisers there at this event raised $2100.00 for the Equest Horsemanship Center in Wylie, TX. What else can I say but you went WAY beyond generous, giving and kind.
They got to go to some casinos and see the area of the Sacramento Mountains in Southeast NM, and enjoy the friendships that have been formed over the last 6 years. Thanks to ALL my vendors, who weren't there but were MORE than generous to the event!!!!!!!! Hats off to you.....the goodie bags were jam packed full of product and fun stuff due to you and the raffle had good stuff for people to take home with them! Speedgraphic.net donated a $250 Gift Certificate, which was given away via a silent auction and raised $200.00 for the Equest Center!! Moss Motors donated a PT Cruiser watch, which was auctioned off and brought in $150.00 for the Equest Center. What more can I say?!?!?! Thanks to the AZ Cactus Cruisers too....the bags were a blessing and the sunglasses came in handy, because Mother Earth supplied us with cool nights and VERY sunny warmish skies during Cruisin' hours!! Your support from all the way back to the ONE post that started all this, is very much appreciated and will NEVER be forgotten. Thanks to my two friends, Stephanie George and Marie Rossi.....their were my advisers, my rock and my legs the WHOLE weekend!! They made me cry but it was a happy cry!! I got a surprise from all the cruisers at the closing ceremony, and it touched my heart, my soul and I'll never forget it! Tom Myers did the hauling for us, due to my not having a trailer, to get the abundant raffle prizes 150 miles to the event!! Thanks Tom. Poker Winners were: Marie Rossi- Best Hand with a Full house Jim Stearns- Worst Hand with a 10-6 Most Billy the Kid cards- Pat Ohab Most Pat Garrett cards- Cindy Striegler Most Belle Starr cards- Dennis Bennorth Awards: Longest Traveled PT- Don Kidd of Chico, CA 1345.91 miles!!! Most Loaded down PT- Tom Myers of Carlsbad, NM First to Register- Peg Drager of Surprise, AZ Youngest Attendee- Sam Medina 9 years old Thanks again to the Pine Springs Inn of Ruidoso Downs, NM. If anyone is ever in the area, check it out.....it's the best stay in town. Sadly, we had 8 fraudulent registrations come in by documented AZ IP addresses and MY hotel reservation was canceled by someone calling into the hotel.....but the fires were quickly put out, thanks to a sharp webmaster and a courteous and efficient hotel staff. I hope next year someones head will be on straight and not spending energy on such nonsense. Will there be another Southern NM cruise?!??! Probably so....I'll try and come up with a fresh new route, for people to come and enjoy the Land of Enchantment. ----------

Thanks Crystal!....That's what my event was all about, no competition and no trophies; just fun and laughs. ... We raised a good amount of money for charity....had some good laughs and everyone got a good lesson on New Mexico history!! Smokey Bear really was born right here and when he died, they brought him back to the forest him came from. It's heart warming and I'm glad everyone enjoyed themselves. I'm commited to next year.....it's be in the same area, just different activites. Not so much history next year, the students learned enough his year. Thanks for the compliment, it humbles me. ...

Oh......I stand corrected. I got another donation after the event was over, from a couple that couldn't even BE there. The total donation to Equest was $2200.00!!! True blue PT Cruisers are the best!!! Always ready to have a good time with their friends and give to those that need.
