Upgrading My Upgrades Can't Post

Hi all, I am new to this board. Thanks for letting me join

I have purchased a 2001 limited with tons of upgrades.

Grille, Bumpers, Continental kit, Running boards and more. Lots of E&G stuff.

Seems that most of any thing using the 3M tapes is starting to come loose. Also the Vertical Grille is missing a bunch of clips and screws. Anyone else having these problems. Upgrades are at least 3 years old or more. I want to get things back to good condition. What is a good way to get this taped items loose and re-attached. I'll try to get some pics later.

Thanks, Bobster

You can run fishing line or dental floss under the item and it will cut the tape loose. Clean it and reinstall new 3M tape that you can get at any automotive store. Good luck and welcome from East Tennessee.
We'll be waiting for the pictures. Wave

CoolHi and welcome to the PTCC.Running dental floss under the loose item is the best way to cut thru old 3-M tape. After removal you must cleanse the area well getting rid of any dead 3-m tape using first dilute soap and water mix and then applying rubbing alcohol on the surface and let dry.A nice product that helps to promote adhesion is this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ADHESIVE-Promoter-for-Real-Carbon-Fiber-Wood-Dash-Trim_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118QQcategoryZ40017QQihZ002QQitemZ120116767584 QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V The last thing to remember is to make sure that it is at least 65 degrees in the area where you are working because 3-M tape does not work well when applied in the cold.Hope I helped and God Bless......Mike

Re: [Bobster] Upgrading My Upgrades Can't Post

Thanks for the replies guys.

I notice that ptgeebee has the same grille as mine. three of the 4 mounting screws for the upper grille are gone. I am trying to souce replacement ones now. Also my lower grill as been curbed a couple times and is cracked in a couple places. Gonna price a replacement soon. Do you have any more pics available. Would love a copy of the installation guide. The one I downloaded from E&G doesnt show any pics.

Thanks again guys, later, Bob

Re: [Bobster] Upgrading My Upgrades Can't Post

Hey guys, here is an update on my upgrades....

the weather is really warm today so I thought I would dive into some of the problem areas on my Crusier.

I have the E&G Vertical grille system just like ptgeebee. Not sure how long I will have it though. The plastic parts are in rough shape. Almost all the mounting tabs are broken. Both metal grille parts are near perfect. On the upper grille surround, three of the four mounting tabs for the metal grill are damaged. Only the right/top tab is complete. The left/top tab is gone. The two bottom tabs are in rough shape. Not sure if I can rebuild them. I will call the company and see what they think. The lower plastic section will probably need replacing. The left mounting tab was broken off and I broke the right one trying to remove the mounting screww that holds the grille in. The left/lower mounting tab on the surround was broken also. Gonna try to buy another one if I can. If if is made of plastic, it is either broken or cracked, if metal, it is badly rusted. Love the looks if I can get it repaired. Does anyone have any parts I could get? I also need a copy of the installation manual for the Rocket taillights? My right one seems Loose. Not sure how they are made.

Wish me luck guys, spring is on the way.
