Does anyone have the "in-channel" vent shades? we just bought an '06 and I want to try & find a set rather than go with the stick on style. Thanks! ----------

Thanks everyone for your replies and links to where I can get these!!! The stick-on ones are so old-fashioned, and the in-channel ones look more like the factory might have installed them!! ----------

I love the fact that everyone is happy with their in-channel vent visors--I have inquired about this style with several suppliers, mainly on Ebay who say that the in-channel type cause the window to be too tight at top and will be forced down with the visors installed--sounds to me as if all they have is the stick on ones and want to get rid of them by telling me the in-channel are troublesome. ----------

Just installed the EGR brand (from Australia, no less) into the channels on my '06 GT. Fronts fit real well, but the window seems to "bump" ever-so-slightly when it rolls up and goes by begining edge of the visor, is this considered "normal"?? Rears fit kind of loosley, they have a double back sticky tape that evedentally adhears to the back edge of the rubber w/s when you push the visor and w/s together----I found that rolling the window up tight keeps the visor in place, I'll keep the rear windows up for a few days to make sure the adheasive sticks well--any tricks here?? ----------

Looks like you came across the trick.Roll up the windows and keep them in the up position for a few days.We didn't have to do this with our weathertechs but a few people had this problem with the other brads and this measure fixed it.........God Bless.......Mike ---------- Mike Casabianca His: 2001 Black LE with Auto Transmission, BullDog Signs Flames, WeatherTec wind deflectors, cargo area mat, PT trash can, PT valve stem caps and Dart's coldair intake, chrome tail and headlight bezels, chrome bumper inserts, chrome license plate pillow, chrome fender trim, 1940's retro chrome on front and back fenders, door spears, chrome hatch door trim, chrome gas door, brushed chrome door sills, billet door pins, custom "BlueHaze" dash mat, MRK Group lugnut covers, dome light trim, etc. and the chrome goes on...... Thanks Mike!! You're the Man!! I'm just about finished for now with the mods. Reverse light trim, and chrome mirror trim & that will be it! We've done the front and rear chrome light trim, door cups, fog light trim, the vent visors, had the front windows tinted, got the sub-woofer installed, factory cargo mat, PT Cruiser license plate, Blane's hood supports, antenna trim. I'm going to get a few pics when its all done in a few weeks! ----------

I am glad that everything worked out well with the subwoofer and all.You did very well on the 75 dollar installation fee.You won't regret getting the in track vent shades also. One word of warning.........The "D" word when refering to mods is worse than the "F" word.I used Done and it was all down hill.I have just resigned myself to the fact that Miss CRN will never be done it is just a continual work in progress. In my case I have double trouble cause I have 2 kids her and Woodra.I just found unpainted head and taillight trim that I bought and she has a date with my autobody friend where she will get those as well as the rims and pillars sprayed Patriot Blue.Gin wanted moon rims but I found moon hubcaps and will paint the rims so the exposed circumfrence will be Patriot Blue. All 5the best and glad I could help.God Bless and Enjoy.......Mike BTW hurry with the pics.. ---------- Mike Casabianca His: 2001 Black LE with Auto Transmission, BullDog Signs Flames, WeatherTec wind deflectors, cargo area mat, PT trash can, PT valve stem caps and Dart's coldair intake, chrome tail and headlight bezels, chrome bumper inserts, chrome license plate pillow, chrome fender trim, 1940's retro chrome on front and back fenders, door spears, chrome hatch door trim, chrome gas door, brushed chrome door sills, billet door pins, custom "BlueHaze" dash mat, MRK Group lugnut covers, dome light trim, etc. and the chrome goes on...... Mike, I think you are right about the "D" and "F" words when it comes to a level of completion on a PT!!! We really don't like the '06 15 spoke GT rims though. ----------

SGhost, My rears have slid downwards and expose some on the sticky tape stuff now, and gentle tugging will pull them down so I'm thinking about pulling them completely out and scrapeing the sticky stuff off and applying a thin bead of clear silicone and then braceing them up/in until it dries.....any comments/suggestions?? I have the EGR slimline in-channel and they are great. The only thing is when you put the windows up it knocks on the visor a little, but still no problems.

Folks, The visors are great looking and the fronts fit well, but the rears, to me leave something to be desired, unless I have done something wrong.....This very slin line of tacky adheasive doesn't seem to be holding well at all, and we're afraid to put the rear windows down for fear of loosing one or both, so does everyone think my silicone idea will work?? ----------

I didnt even remember the in channels have any adhesive. The ones we have have been on for 4 years now with zero problems. Hate that for you. I guess you are talking about putting some adhesive on the in channel (hidden part) of the vent shade.. Only problem I see with that is one day trying to take them out. Other than that I am sure it would help ---------- AUCRZR on Horsepower TV Show http://webpages.charter.net/tigertown/hptv.3g2

AUCRZR:The EGR ones we have have a very thin and not too sticky line of adheasive across the top, and like I said it isn't working at all, I have pulled the paper off of it, and held them in place and closed the window tight for 2 weeks and they still they slide down exposing the thin strip of adheasive. I still think my silicone idea will work-Thanks! ----------

I've transfered my Weathertech shades to different cars when the adhesive wasn't working at all. Zero problems with any of the windows down. You don't need to silicone yours. That would be messy and look like yuk eventually. If it bothers you that bad get some two sided sticky tape and redo your shades. ---------- 2005 Stone White SRT4 2004 Graphite Auto
