Gettin' only 18.3 mpg on my new '07 vert. And that's without AC on here in So Fla. Is that the best I can expect? I've got the standard engine, and don't have a lead foot. What are you guys gettin', and why does the sticker say 21/26? A little false advertising there you think? Geez.... ----------

Yesterday we went to Baltimore MD for a car Show and We put 138 Miles on the 06 Vert. That's traveling 95 most of the way at 70 to 75 MPH my gas gauge is at the 3/4 mark so later I'm going to top off the tank just to see what I got. I'll post the MPG this eveing. Most of the time I just drive local and I get from 16. to 18. .It's the basic model with no cruise and 18 inch tire's and Automatic transmission. ---------- big jim

With my stock 05 GT vert H/O, I am getting about 23 mpg. This is driving to work 25 miles one way (23 miles of it is interstate at 70 mph) five days a week, and the rest of the time, city driving. This is usually with the top down and A/C off. I use only 93 octane. ----------

I drive mostly on the hwy and interstate with cruise control on and i get 29 mpg on my o5 turbo lite. i have over 53,000 miles on mine and just had one of the fuel injectors replaced (under warranty). I will be driving in the city now, so I will have to check and see what that is on my next fill up. I am in North west Florida, near Pensacola. Teddi ---------- Life is just one long Cruise! I am glad that you brought this up. I just got a brand new 06 GT convertible 2 weeks ago and I filled it up the first time last week. I only got 18 mpg on my first tank that was about 50% city and 50% highway. After that I checked the tires and found them to be a bit low. Since inflating the tires to the appropriate level I am now getting 19 mpg. I have been very deliberate about not accelerating too hard since I got 18 mpg on the first tank. This mileage still seems low to me. Can I expect any improvement after the engine is broken in? Is there anything I should check since the car sat on the dealer's lot for a year before I bought it? ----------

Hi all, I've been reading a lot of posts about gas mileage. I have a 2006 basic model it had 11 miles on it when purchased and now has 7000....Its basically used as our long trip car..we make frequent trips to Nevada...I've really enjoyed it and enjoyed the mod bug....I've done minor ones such as Borla dual exhaust and the K&N filter. The purchase sticker on the car stated 21/26 mpg and from the start I got 19/20mpg.....and a little disapointed. I noticed that the fuel guage is a little off on the top side (if this makes sense)...in other words...I will go 200 miles on the first half...which would calculate to 26 mpg...but the second half of the tank will only get me 100/135 miles.....and that calculates to 20/22 mpgs.....I've only pushed it onces past the 3rd chime just to see how far I could go to empty. Otherwise it gets filled at a 1/4 tank.... Now that the car has 7000 miles on it I am begining to see some slight improvements.....went to Nevada and back on a little under a half tank both ways....I do notice that California gas burns faster.....so my last trip calculated to about 22/24 mpg.....So with this, I have to assume that as the car started to break in, my gas mileage improved.... I hope my above rambling made some sense and that all the new owners who are disapointed right now will get the same results as I have....and as the car reaches its full breakin (12000) we will get the posted 26MPG... Thanks all and happy cruising Mike ----------

First I never let my tank go below half way.. it's earier on my wallet .Now I'm not sure but the last three tanks I have been getting a lot better mileage. it went from 15.02 to 16 .6 to 18 and 20 local Maybe it's the summer blend of fuels or maybe the engine is finally braking in. It just turned 12,000 . I have 18 inch tires and keep the tire pressure at 40 pounds. ---------- big jim

I am not impressed with our '06 mileage. It gets 17.8 in-town, no matter how it is driven. My '96 Dodge Cummins TD 5-speed one-ton gets the same mileage in-town! Her car is a Limited with the Turbo and automatic. My wife drove it to Kansas last week, and she got 23 going up and a bit over 19 coming home. She drives it a lot easier than I do, but still, it should get better than that, IMO. Our old '03 GT 4-door Turbo 5-speed got 25 highway and 20 in-town. ----------
