Warning to anyone using a Cone Style Airfilter Can't Post

I am posting this so hopefully those Turbo owners that use a cone filter does not experience the same thing I went through last night...

On my old cone style air filter, the metal tip cap was sucked off of my filter and got stuck in the charge pipe leading to the turbo. This in turn caused my vehicle to loose all boost, and forced me to pull off of a busy freeway to dismantle my air intake system in a parking lot.

I have included pics to show you the type of air filter and the problem with it. I hope this helps.

Is this a K&N after market cone filter? I don't remember seeing that cap when cleaning mine. Maybe I should just check mine and clean it while I have it off.

Who makes that filter?Roll eyes

No offense to anyone, but I never understood why PT turbo owners do not spend money on a decent turbo filter, like a HKS SMF?? The cost is in line with other turbo related mods that are done (~$65), and the quality is superior! And stay away from the knock-offs on ebay!
