What Oil are the GT Guys Using?

Just curious what kind of oil everybody is using in the GT Turbo model? My 2000 1.8L Turbo Passat required Full Synthetic since the day it left the factory. If the PT doesn't require full synthetic is it ok to switch to that at the next oil change? And what weight are you using?

I use 10W30 Mobil1.

I use Penzoil Platinum full synthetic 5W30. Maybe in the next oil change I'll switch to what Bluephrog is using.

Mobil 1 5W30 since 500 miles on the clock. Full synthetic is almost a must for a turbo car as the heat produced by the turbo can do nasty things to regular dino based oils. I'm really surprised that the turbo PTs did not come from the factory with synth. My Crossfire came filled with 0W40 Mobil 1 and recommended 7,000 change intervals.

I have used Mobil 1 5-30W since 3700 miles in my 2004 GT Mopar STAGE 1 Turbo with superlative performance and no problems whatsoever after more than 4 years/31K miles.  Also, my gas mileage for highway-driving is consistently between 24 to 28 MPG (depending on road conditions) and there are a few times when I get 30+ MPG.

I use Mobil 1 5w40 esp (Mercedes-benz spec) has a higher amount of friction modifiers verses standard mobil 1. good for 13000 mile oil changes in the Benz line. i go 10k on it and just change the filter every 5K for the summer and in winter i get Mobil 5w30 High mileage (where i can) and go 7500 miles and change the mopar filter in middle of that too.

Yep, and if Mobil 1 is good enough for my Mercedes in a Chrysler suit then it's darn well good enough for my Mexican built Chrysler too!!!!

Yep i sure hope so! how do you fit in that Chrysler Xfire any ways>? I'm 6'5 and ill never fit in it.

I'm 6'1" with a 35" inseam and I fit just fine. Heck, I fit fine in the Miata I had before this but I have to admit the Crossfire is much, much more comfortable for a long drive (6+ hours).

Well im 6'5 w/ a 33" inseam so i guess my head is 3 inches closer to the roof. oh yea and i weigh 285. not fat but uh.. well you know.

I use Kendall full synthetic oil. It is what my autoshop uses standard for a synthetic oil change.
I have them put on a Bosch oil filter and change the oil every 5k miles
