What is UPRR doing/thinking?

Is it run by monkeys? My PT shipped on 12/5. I tracked it as it went up through Texas, Arkansas, through the south eastern portion of Missouri, and into Illinois. It's final destination being St. Louis. It arrived at Valjnct, IL (Val...junction...either Valmeyer or Valier) on 12/16 at 4 a.m. At worst it was 2 hours from St. Louis. Well, the tracking schedule showed it was to leave Monday night (the 18th of Dec.) at 11 p.m. and arrive at 4 a.m. in St. Louis (early Tuesday). I watched as the departure time got bumped in 2 hour blocks. It finally departed on Wed. the 20th. It got to 20 minutes outside of St. Louis and then.....it turned around and went back to Valjnct! There is sat for another 24hrs. Then it proceeded to travel back down through south eastern Mo, through Arkansas, and through Texas. It got to just east of Laredo on Dec. 23rd. It sat there until Dec. 29th. The arrival time in St. Louis keeps changing. First it says 1/3, then 1/6, then 1/4, then 1/6 again. Meanwhile, PTs that shipped on 12/8 have arrived at my dealer! I am so fumed and frustrated at UPRR. No wonder the railroad industry is becoming extinct. Did anyone else have idiots driving the train their PT was on? Will I ever get it? I could have driven down to Toluca and back (at a leisurely pace) a dozen times by now!

According to UPRR, mine has been sitting in the train yard at Prescott, AR for the last 40 hours now. It made really good time coming through Texas. Some of the speeds I was calculating were close to 80mph! The original delivery date/time at Cottage Grove MN was supposed to be 01-01-01 at 0900. That had gone all the way down to 01-01-01 @ 0430. Now it is at 01-03-01 @ 0759.It did seem to hop-scotch around Texas a bit going north, then east then north and now northeast. At least it didn't turn around and go back south! All we can do is wait and track and wait some more. At least our cars are built and on the way - which is a lot more than many others here can say.

Just a question???????? Knowing that the number you track with isn't your CAR NUMBER, but rather the Railroad Car #. Could it have been dropped off and what you are tracking not is simply the railroad car??? Your PT may be sitting in MO - waiting for truck to your dealers??????????????? Just a thought!

By the way - I found the trucking company (Allied) by accident - who had my car waiting for shipment and when I called they promised they'd ship it the next AM - and they DID. Nice people there that I talked to. He was just as excited as I was about it. Sooooo if you can get the name of the trucking company (and you get that thru DC) you can start looking for it. ------------------ sig. Compliments of Marc Ordered: Silver 28G Lmtd. w/ABS and CD. Good Gawd! You are right- it is definitely run by MONKEYS! That is soooo unbelievable. I guess I must have really lucked out when mine came thru without a hitch! How can you figure? I could misplace my keys once in a while, but a whole car???????? Not! You just wonder how a thing like that could happen???? Guess you'll have to continue tracking it. You know what? - if you weren't right on top of things and waiting like 90% of the uninformed people out there you wouldn't have your cruiser for who knows how long! Now you can bug Cassens too! They can be very helpful tho and maybe hurry things along for you once it gets back to MO! Good luck and keep us posted.------------------ sig.
