Will higher octane gas prolong fuel system life?

Mike, Keep up the good work! I have an '87 Mini Ram van with 135,000 on the 3.0 v6 and I've always used 93 octane. Thats 13 years on all original fuel injectors & still going strong. I've cleaned the throttle body several times and replaced the fuel filter twice. I also use Mobil 1 twice a year @5,000 miles. Do you think the high octane gas has helped? I also want to keep my PT going on & on & on. How do I find the best gas (other than buying cheap and watching for poor running)? Is the higher octane gas cleaner? Better? If it is I'm going to give the best to my PT so it'll see 100,000+ easily. Thanks, BZCruiser aka Brian in SE PA

Brian,I dont hink the octane has anything to do with how long it lasts. I have 122,000 miles on my 91 Plymouth Acclaim 3.0L V6 and have never used anything but 87 octane Michael J. Challis
