We just got a new Inferno Red GT Convertible to go with our '04 Light Almond turbo light Woody and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the windscreen that Chrysler offers. I have seen them online for about $225 and was wondering if they really worked as advertised and how difficult they were to take in and out. ----------

Congratulations on your new INFERNO Red Convertible. I have one of those, too, and the color just zings me! I have not seen the windscreen advertised. Where do you put it, and what is it supposed to do? Sounds like it is to cut down on the wind, duh, right?? I'd be interested to know about this if it works. I have to admit that this car is so much quieter than I would have expected. I'm very impressed with that aspect. Happy convertible days! Linda ---------- linda

The windscreen is offered here at www.ptcruiserclubstore.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=149 with the other convertible only accessories. I haven't ever seen one in person, but I don't really like the way it looks in the pictures. ----------

I have the windscreen, it doe as advertise. It reduces the wind I would say about 80%. It only takes minutes to install or take off. Plus I like the way it looks on my Black convertible.

Hey, I like those head rests. Those weren't standard were they? The screen looks better with a black PT. ----------

The screen does look nice on the black car. Where did you get the chrome strips around the c0ckpit? Are they an aftermarket replacement for the stock black finish parts, or are they stick-on moulding that you fitted yourself? ---------- Be Well, Steve

The headrests were done last year at Cruise the Falls by young lady whose name I forgot. The chrome moulding is the stick on type that I design myself. I got the idea from the Volkswagon and Mini convertibles. If you want I can get you the info on the chrome moulding that I have at home. Eric / Topless should have the info also. ----------

Wow, very nice indeed, I'd like to get them installed. Is this something a Chrysler pro needs to do? I haven't seen these available online for a do-it yourselfer. Funny thing is the mod bug hasn't hit me. I have had my PT for 2 weeks now and hesitate to mod it up. Don't like the idea of taping things to the body, or removing the side spears to place the chrome ones on. I actually like the way it looks as is. A few things I will eventually do is change to the 17" GT chrome stars or a chromed larger aftermarket chrome wheel. And I like the tribal chrome magnets to put near the car logo on the door sides. These headrests logos are great as well. Oh yeah and dual exhausts! Uh oh! Mod bug alert! ---------- 2005 Touring Edition Convertible Turbo 2.4L LITE Automatic, cool vanilla, faux Street Edition badging, K&N drop in filter, modded airbox, mini-chrome side flames, chrome gas cap cover, customized rear mud flaps, flying siberian husky fur when top dropped.

Here is the info on the chrome trim. Prostribe Moulding # M869905. When you get it, the trim is shape thin to wide looking at it from the side. I put the thin side up. Just make sure you heat up ( hair blow dryer) the curve around the rear corners before you install it. I order the trim from local parts dealer. The headrest were done at Cruise the Falls in 2004. I wish I had the vendor's number or e mail. Maybe some one who was there might remember her name. ----------

Back to topic... We use the windscreen a lot and it works well. It installs easily. Velcro straps go around the sports bar, a small latch hooks onto those metal u brackets in the back seat sides and then there are snaps that go where the front convertible boot snaps on. It's a two way snap (male snap pn the bottom, female snap on the top) that you can use by itself or first before putting the boot cover snap on top of the windscreen snap.
