Windshield Trim Question

I have a 2005 Convertible and I have a question about the trim piece that goes across the top of the windshield. I'm not sure if this piece has a specific name and if I need to take a picture of it to get a better response, just let me know and I will. But my question has to do with the fact that the trim piece seems to be coming loose. The center of it is tight, but the two ends seem to be pulling up from their seated position. I can hold it down flat with one hand and pound the corner down with my other hand and it will stay down. But while driving wind gets under it or something and pulls it up. So my question is: how does this trim piece connect? Is there some sticky stubstance that holds it in place? I'd like to try to fix this if at all possible. ----------

I had that happen to my '05 about two years ago and the dealer just put 3M Red Line double face tape on it, so when the other side came loose a few months later I used the same thing on that side, I had some left over from some chrome trim I had installed, I had bought the roll at Pep Boys, I am sure most auto parts stores carry the Automotive grade 3M Red line tape, (in case you did not know, it is called Red line due to the red plastic pull off liner that seperates the tape from itself on the roll) ---------- '05 GT Dream Cruiser Series 4. Great! Thanks! So I can just pull the corners up and stick the tape underneath and then press it down and it'll hold? I'll have to stop by the parts store today and see if I can find any of that tape. Thanks. ----------

Yes, just lift the ends enough to put in a piece of the tape about 2" long and press it down, make sure the plastic and the metal are warm for the tape to stick well, use a hair dryer or a heat gun if you have to, clean the surfaces with a alcohol wipe, or other non residue cleaner (not rubbing alcohol, as it has oil in it), will help the tape stick better also. ---------- '05 GT Dream Cruiser Series 4.
