I was wanting to know if you had to take the factory electronic boost control off to put on a boost controller and/or wastegate. If so I would like to know how. I was thinking about buying a turboxs dualstage controller with an AGP wastegate. ---------- 2003 Black 5-speed Turbo PT Cruiser/ Mopar Stage 1/ Mopar Exhaust/ Mopar BOV/ K&N fipk intake/ Goldline SuperSlam springs/ 3 12" MA audio subs probox MA audio 2000 watt amp/ sony headunit

First of all, you need a boost gauge before upping the boost. I had the AGP wga set at 13 psi, the first stage of the turbo xs dual was set at 15 and the second stage set at 18. You will take control away from the pcm. You want to hook up the wga first to set it and then the turbo xs. ---------- 2005 Stone White SRT4 2004 Graphite Auto

how much horsepower did you gain from these mods?/ what kind of boost gauge do you suggest, and where is a good place to put it at in my car? ---------- 2003 Black 5-speed Turbo PT Cruiser/ Mopar Stage 1/ Mopar Exhaust/ Mopar BOV/ K&N fipk intake/ Goldline SuperSlam springs/ 3 12" MA audio subs probox MA audio 2000 watt amp/ sony headunit

This is where I had my boost gauge along with a pyrometer.
I used Autometer Phantom gauges. You gain about 10 hp for 1 psi gained. So I probably gained around 30 hp when I spiked at 18 psi. The car scared the crappola out of my wife, especially when I went to 2nd stage of the bc. ---------- 2005 Stone White SRT4 2004 Graphite Auto

Another question for the "meanie greenie man": I've been searching the planet for a pillar post for my convertible, but can't find one for PT Cruiser (I see they make them for mustang).......I saw one questionable "universal", but do you know of any good aftermarket that might fit the 06 vert? I'd like a 3-pillar....I really hate to have to resort to a dash mount and have to look over them to drive. Lis PS: going to have my SRT4-kid install my stuff for me......where'd you get your gauges? I want the boot gauge with the blue lighting.... ---------- Melissa in Wisconsin: MOONBOP, the 2006 Electric Blue PT Turbo Touring Convertible 16" chrome rims, grill, etc. Mods stacking up for Spring '07 application

This is where I got mine, BUT I don't know if the vert pillar is the same. You are going to have to ask Maggie at Race & Street. Oh, I already did ask--Maggie's probably sick of me already (very big grin)........pod is not for the 'vert. I might just send for one of those Aussie ones and see what happens........they have a MOMO shift knob I want, too, but the dang thing is $210! LOL! Hi all..I went to Glowshift..spoke direct to the "man" as I have a vert..he says it would fit with minor "adjuistments"..BS..the darn thing was not even close! If I was close to the idiot, I would take it back to him and put it in his anatomy where the sun don't shine..beware.. The actual profduct is no great shakes anyways. A thin plastic with little form. I did get my 3 pods mounted with retro chrome cups attached to the existing pillar. I will post a pic next week when I get "DaShado" back. Just peeves you when these characters give you a load of bull!! You have to take them at their word, what choice do you have. Hope this saves some other PT'er from this nonsense. DaShado ----------

Hey! You know, I wondered about those guys!! On ebay, they have what I, as a seller myself, consider to be a terrible rating. Sorry you had to go through that........so what you are saying is that I'd have to mount the old fashioned crome pods we used to use back in the 60's with those v-shaped clamp thingies? Miss M ...the installers i used are a couple of Italian guys with extensive background in custom mods. The PT is over there until Monday at which time I will take a picture and try and email it to you. They mounted the gauges in these chrome "pods" or cups and attached them to the stock pillar pod and it looks great. Very Retro...they custom made chrome attachment mounts so the whole unit ( a bank of 3 ) look very sharp. DaShado

Hey, could you get these Italian guys to make a set of pillar attachments for me? You're in Canada, right? Do they have a website or something where I could order the same mounts you have? If I could get the parts here to Wisconsin and knew which gauges you used (I'm assuming you have all 52mm, i.e., the 2 and and 1/8th (or is it 2 and 1/16th?) sizes? Hi M...sure, the guys would fix you up. This is their phone # 1 403 803-1723. Their web site is not complete yet but it is www.compacttuninglab@telus.net. Give "Roberto" a call or e mail and I am sure he will fix you up. Mention we are connected via the forums and it will make some sense to him. I am going over there today to pick up "DaShado" and I will mention your conversation. Take care D ----------
