convertible colors & car character Can't Post

I was just thinking about how the color of the convertible really changes the character of the car (at least to me). I think the convertible's character is affected more by the color than the regular wagon is, and it's definetly affected more by color than pretty much any other car on the road...most other cars seem to have a character that is set, and the color really doesn't change it much.

I was kinda curious to see what others thought about this. Here's my take on colors:

Cool Vanilla: looks best with the taupe top...gives it a nice cross between a street rod and a luxury car character.

Bright silver & Electric Blue: Very street rod looking when combined with the black top & chrome wheels. Sliver seems to add a little James Dean bad-boy, while Electric Blue adds a 50's drive-in restaurant feel.

Inferno Red: Makes the convertible look like a sports car. Beige top & interior softens the sports car look, while black enhances it.

Linen Gold & Midnight Blue: gives it a total luxury car look, especially with the light interior & top.

Plum: Total retro fun color..comes across as a very friendly car, especially with the light interior.

Black: Gives it kind of a sinister, mob/gangster getaway car look.

Thoughts?

Hey Soldierguy,
i think you are right on about the colors and character/personality of the cruiser convertibles. I own an Inferno Red one, myself. Yes, sporty is good. BUT, I absolutely get lost in the red...what a great red...there simply is not a better red on any car. I look at the other cars on the road and they all LOOK THE SAME to me, too. What have I become???? Haha...

One other thing about the colors of these HOT cars...
We almost got a vanilla, as my husband thought it looked so classy. The deciding factor was that our Golden Retriever looks better in red. Seriously, haha.

I got the cool vanilla with black top and interior...I think it has a cross between the mobster rodder with the the top up...and a classy ride with the top down and all black on the inside...I alos just cruised through the closed delaer ship and eyeballed the new solar yellow route 66 2006 model...pretty nice! They had a couple of cool 05's on the lot...including a LE 180hp silver 05. These cars are so nice...I really opened her up on the raod today and this 2.4 turbo really FLIES!!!! Can't wait for spring her on the east coast!

The thing I love about my midnight blue vert w/blk top, is that it looks black at night. Especially with the full dark tint job I have. But during the day, the deep metallic sparkles and with the light interior just has that luxo look and feel. And on that occasion when a ricer snickers at a convertible PT, I put him in his place- 10 cars behind me!!Wave They get this "Huh?!" look on their face as I smoke the S out of them.

You are absolutely right on the silver with black top. I have that combination and everyone tells me it looks like a 50's hot rod. Which, is exactly the look I wanted. I have helped matters with a little extra chrome, chrome strips on the grill, chrome antenna bezel and a stainless steel antenna with black anodized flames, chrome bumper trim around the license plate (don't know exactly what it's called but my wife calls it a "chrome butt"), and to really give it a great 50's street rod look, chrome smoothies and baby moons! This car really loves chrome...

Hmmm, what have I forgotten???
