Someone here in the States built a few custom 4-door convertibles by cutting the top off of a stock cruiser along with other changes. This was not from Chrysler.Flag USA

I've seen the conversion kit for the 4-door convertible. It was like $3500 or $4500 just for the kit. I'll see if I can find it, unless someone else beats me to it.

There has been several on eBay lately. They're "conversions".

Re: [Bruja] convertible four doors? Can't Post

I think it is California Cruisers that does it. There was a guy at Vegas (2002) that had it done. When the top is up, it actually has more the original PT profile than the 2-door convertible prototype from D-C. At least the early 2-door convertible from D-C used a production-line Sebring top, which didn't look like the PT profile. My 2 cents.

I also think it was about $8000 ($12000 motorized).

I purchased a fully certified 2002 "four door" conv. from Kirkland Chrysler.and I still have 25,000 more miles on my total warranty. They shipped it to my home in Satsuma Fla. This method was similar to a van conversion I purchased from GMC
Only four were contracted prior to the actual production of the two door.
My PT was a concept Convetible . Kirkland has one remaining for $33,395.
PS: I will sale mine for $25,500.Hat

No, your PT was a conversion not a concept. Daimler Chrysler NEVER had a four door concept. There are quite a few 4 door conversions. Your warranty is good for everything EXCEPT anything to do with the roof conversion. Why would you buy a conversion that costs more then a new 2005 production vehicle? The fit and finish pales in comparison to the production version!

Re: [PT RAGTOP] convertible four doors? Can't Post

Well that sure destroyed my thoughts about the cute car I purchased for my wife.
PS: I purchased this prior to the production model.
Many heads were turned and many people said they were buying one when chry.produced it.
We still get great compliments!!

To tell you the truth, I like the looks of the 4-door conversions more than the 2-door Chrysler made. OK, let the flames begin. Outtahere Sheesh!

This one is from PA and the pic was taken on the first Blue Ridge Parkway cruise.

I suppose the "word" exist could be open to interpretation! The four doors are all aftermarket conversions. Chrysler never "made" a 4-door vert so maybe the people that said that meant it didn't "exist" in that sense. The ones I've seen are beautiful but I would be concerned about any conversion - you know, structural integrity and all that stuff. Anyway, you're not crazy Wave

Re: [Bruja] convertible four doors? Can't Post

Yes, California Cruisers did a few conversions. I also believe Pteazer will do one also if you want. However, these conversions are very expensive to do, mucho, mucho labor involved, and I don't think either Cal Cruisers or Pteazer would offer a warranty on them. Personally, I dispise the look of the 4door vert conversions. And for that matter, all convertible conversions. They just look cheesy to me. If you've ever seen one up close, you can tell there were lots of little changes that had to be made for them to work. Plus, if they do not reinforce the frame, like DC did, the body flex will be awfull.
