did anyone consider other convertible before purchasing the cruiser

I am still flip-floping between the cruiser convertible or a solara convertible. The cruiser would be an '05 with around 15k miles with leather trim while the Toyota Solara Convertible is also an '05 but has lots more miles (39k miles) with a V6 and leather trim too. The cruiser asking price is around 14k while the Toyota is 21k. I have never owned a Chrysler but heard lots of horror stories from the web and a few neighbors. In this case, the Cruiser is hardly used while the Toyota has passed its warranty period. So which one would you buy? (I know it is a bias question but would like to hear opinions anyway). Thanks ----------

I considered others, including Mustang, VW New Beetle, Mini, and the PT seemed to be the best value. I had a VW (Golf) Cabrio and when I heard the PT convertible was being discontinued I made my move, otherwise I would have probably hung onto the VW for a few more years. I now have over 4000 miles on "Walter P" and I'm glad I I made that decision! Quality - wise, the PT Cruiser seems to be better than many other Chrysler products from what I've read. ---------- 2008 PT Cruiser Conv 5-sp

We have an '05 turbo gt vert and love it. Of course, on this site you'll most likely get PT lovers. Having also owned Toyotas, I can also highly recommend the Solara. The PT has the best frequency of repair record for any Chrysler product ever built and of course the Toyota is pretty much bullet-proof. I doubt you'd have any concerns with either vehicle. I guess I'd go for which ever car blows your bangs up more. We get many thumbs up and positive comments on our black beauty, but the Solara is a gorgeous car too. They ARE different breeds though - Solara, sleek and streamlined ... PT - Retro and quirky. Both excellent in their own way. A no lose situation ----------
