eBay Watch: Rt. 66 DIESEL in Florida Can't Post

In case anyone here is interested in this rare PT (at least in the US market), there is a DIESEL Rt. 66 up for auction on eBay right now.

In the item description it says the car is located in Bremerhaven, Germany and is for use in Europe only. Kind of disappointing because a diesel PT would be pretty cool.

Re: [richerd] eBay Watch: Rt. 66 DIESEL in Florida Can't Post

OK, good catch Richerd and sorry everyone for getting all excited about this one and sending out this notice without reading the fine print. I just saw the "item location" line and took it at face value... silly me.Roll eyes

I wish Chrysler offered that car here in the US - that WOULD be cool. Cool

So now that this thread has turned out to be a bit of a tease, let me see if I can put it to good use...

Does anyone know why the price of diesel is so high in the US in relation to regular gasoline? In most any other country that I am aware of, diesel is always the cheapest fuel you can put in your car and the combination of the low price and the great mileage makes owning a diesel really worthwhile. Around here, however, diesel is about the same price, and often a bit more expensive than regular.

Does anyone have a good explanation for this?
