I drive 2,000 to 3,000 Calif freeway miles per month as a commerical real estate broker.Consequently I have always bought Cadillacs for their soft comfortable ride. I am considering a PT; how does the ride compare? Curious in Southern California

there is no comparison between a cadillac, and a pt. If you want luxury, then stick with the cadi. I have driven my PT from MD to Boston. I was comfortable, but a cadillac would have been a more comfortable ride.

firm, but still softer than a corvette. the seats are firm too compared to a 98 caddy deville we rented while on vacation. i drive an hour and a half each way from home to school every other weekend and with the wide armrest, its a very comfortable ride. there isnt a trip computer in the pt, so there isnt as many buttons to play with. i want to test drive a dts with nightvision sometime. eric------------------ red 27g, abs, ordered 2-14, cd, shipping date of 7-31, recieved 8-19-00, k&n filter, single borla exhaust, more to come

Agreed... comparing a Caddy to a PT is not a fair comparison - - Coming out of a Lexus into a PT (granted, the Lexus was a lease, and the PT is MINE MINE MINE !!), the interior appointments of the PT are nice for a car OF IT'S CLASS, but will never come close to the cushy/no thinking/bells & whistles of a caddy/Lexus/Mercedes etc. The RIDE, specifically, in a caddy will be a lot more cushy. PT is a much smaller car, lighter, and you'll feel the road and hear the engine noise more than you would in the insulation/fluffy shocks of a caddy. Things you'll (probably) get in the Caddy that you won't in the PT: More adjustments for the seats, and all electric (possibly with memory) Automatic lights (off/on) Rear seating space for wide 'Merican buttocks Leather and wood all around More "computer" functions (trip/milage/direction of the wind... whatever) More "oomph" in the passing gear Similar milage and best of all... TWICE THE PRICE TAG !! You'll probably want to show clients around in a caddy, but they might find you particularly practical if you cheuffer them around in a PT I don't think we PTers claim to be something we're not - - it's like McDonalds versus Cheesecake Factory - - some people might REALLY like the Big Mac, but they're not silly ------------------ Silver 28G (05/08) Ordered - never made cut (08/31) Ordered (second)(11/20) "D" (11/26) "D1" - shipping date 12/13 (12/09) "I" Status (12/14) "KZ" ! (12/28) Placed at Industry (12/30) Delivered to Dealer (01/02/01) GOT IT ~~~ HumP-T DumP-T is MINE ! [This message has been edited by NFLCommish (edited 01-08-2001).]

Coming from a female with an extremely bony butt, it's not that bad! I spend up to 8 hours a day in the car driving from place to place and haven't had a problem with it. You adapt to all occasions tho!!!

The reason I bought the PTC, other than shear love is because of back problems. I made the drive from Portland, Maine to Myrtle Beach, SC. About 1,000 miles each way. It is the first car I wasn't crippled when I got out of her. I would think with the new added lumbar support and heated seats it would be even better. The PTC doesn't have all the bells and whistles as a caddy, but it sure is a hell of a lot of fun to drive! ------------------ ~Lolly & RubyGirl~
