love my '05 but... Can't Post

So i absolutely love my '05 vert but i also like some of the features of the '06. Does anyone know if there is any way to add a console to the '05? i just hate that I have nowhere to stick any loose items/papers when I have the top down. Also, any suggestions where I can get the chrome accents for the grill? I don't want one that looks cheesy. Any help or ideas and I would be soo thankful!
P.S. Loving the warm weather here in New York! Finally, I can put the top down everyday!!!
Thank you all so much. This forum is fantastic!

My 05 has a drawer under the passenger's seat. I use that for cd's and loose stuff.

I too use my drawer for cd's, maps, etc...i would just prefer the convenience of a console right next to me. easier access while triving, etc...I know i am just being picky.

I sorta jam items like paper, directions and maps in between the passenger seat and the console. Works ok with the top down. I hate the under the seat cd holder...that darn thing always sticks and why do they provide tape slots for a car without a tape player??? I agree I am in NJ and have had the top down constantly...welcome SPRING!

They provide the tape slots for those of us who purchased the radio/cd/tape player model. It's an upgraded version of the one in our 01 TE 5 spd. We have a large group of tapes from live concerts that we like to play in the ragtop. The drawer helps us keep things organized.

Makes great sense for a car with a tape player, my ragtop doesn't have one, just the cd. If the slots were built for just cd's then that would have been nice being the car doesn't play tapes.Cool

When did DC ever do anything that made sense? You want a drawer just for CD's. I want a LO turbo with a 5 spd manual transmission. We all have to compromise somewhere. I stopped putting CD's or tapes in the slots in 02. They always fell over, so they just lay flat and slide around a bit.

True the HO turbo has the jetrag 5spd, why not one for the turbo lite?
I hate that drawer. I will abandon using it soon, perhaps it will be useful as a candy wrapper holder.

This is what I heard.. "RUMOR WARNING" That the motor programmed like it is could not work with a manual. The boost curve and a driver picking gears would damage the turbo, something like that.. Also the N/A manual would not be strong enough.. The GetRag would be overkill way over kill..

Haven't heard of any problems with the N/A 5 speed among the Hahn cars... Certainly no problems with mine (which has GT+ power).

It was the "Rumor" I heard.. But yeah the N/A's are pretty solid too.. I think they figured "Lite" owners wouldn't be the powerhungry crowd therefore no 5-speed..

What about installing a drawer under the drivers side? I know there is room in my 04 base model. Not sure about the vert, but tons of room under the seat...

Just a thought..

That is a really good idea. there is plenty of room under the drivers seat in the vert. Did you install one in your '04? How did you go about this? It's definitely something i would do. thanks!

Re: [smarlboro] love my '05 but... Can't Post

I just bought a used '05 silver, black top 'vert last week-loving it in the Tennessee hills! For storage under driver's seat, I ran to Target and picked up two metal mesh cd racks (12" deep?) that have magnets that hold them together. They slide perfectly under the seat- they don't slide further back to the feet of a back-seat passenger because of some brace under there, but I suppose could slide forward if stopping quickly. One holds cds, the 2nd is for extras. Works well as a quick-fix.
