hey everyone, i have just purchased the stage 1 kit for my pt and i just have a question if anyone knows the answer. when i ordered it from haynes speedshop, i had to give them my mileage. when i replace the ecu, will my odometer show what i told them it was? and if i need to put in my oem ecu, will the mileage change again to what it was when i removed it? im scared that if i need to put in the oem one again that chrysler will be suspicious of the mileage. jake ----------

The mileage on the car will not change if you switch ecu's. When Flight Systems flashes your VIN and mileage in the ecu the mileage is so Chrysler knows about when the Stage 1 is installed. ---------- 2005 Stone White SRT4 2004 Graphite Auto

I have a stage one as well. The only thing that will get erased in the trip odometer. the mileage is stored in the Gage cluster computer so that in the even that the computer needs replaced or a stage one is installed its not an issue. Changing the computers out is EZ. takes about 15 mins. just make sure to undo the battery and do the quick learn on the Tranny (auto-stick). oh and on the auto-stick, once the quick learn is done you do not have to do it again if you remove it I have the auto-stick. I took my stage 1 out due to the horrible gas mileage. 14 mpg combined and 20 on freeway. Miss the power let me tell you but w/ 18mpg combined and 23.5 freeway it makes a huge difference in the wallet but i still love my Stage 1. Now i use it for track days. I also noticed that the gas gage reads different w/ my the stage one. at 1/2 a tank i had only gone 100miles and when the gas light came one I had only used 10 gallons just something to watch out for. Also make sure to have the other upgrades listed or an equivalent to it installed. Plugs and wires, some type of exhaust, and mod the air box at least and the blow off valve. Have fun w/ her. My PT will break the tires loose at 25mph w/ the stage one. ---------- 04 "SRT-4" PT Cruiser w/ AutoStick (in Sea Mist Green, 1 of 146) Stage 1, Mopar BOV, MagnaFlow 2 1/2 cat back exhaust, MSD black 8.5mm wires, Stock Champion Plugs gapped at .035, S&B Cold air intake, H&R sport springs, Progress 27mm front sway bar, Energy Suspension motor mount inserts, 06' tail lights, 06' Hood emblem, T-handle on rear glass, SRT-4 badges, factory chrome accent group, chrome door cups, 8" Mopar sub, ClearBra. 205/50ZR17 Sumitomo HTRIII tires
