muffler exhaust tip Can't Post

Roll eyes Just wondering if a chrome muffler exhaust tip is worth putting on, and if so will it stay on? I live in western NY and the winter can be harsh sometimes. Also, saw an emblem that said "classic edition", what is a classic edition pt cruiser? Thanks in advance.

If you want to add a chrome exhaust tip I would recommend one made out of stainless steel, that way there is no chance of it rusting and looking crappy... alot of them have a couple screws that hold them in place or they can be welded on...

The Classic edition emblem is after market dress up emblem I BELIEVE..

I bought a chrome tip at Auto Zone for mine 5 years ago. Still looks good and better than the stock tip ever did.. I did add one screw at installation. A very good mod for a very CHEAP price. Measure the exhaust opening and get the tip with the INSIDE OPENING being the same as the OUTSIDE of the exhaust opening.. To Big it will rattle/wobble To small and welllll it will not go on.

I bought mine from Moss Motors (back when they still did PT stuff), and it was expensive. And then it was too long for the PT! I had to have part of it chopped down. A guy welded it on for me, and that held for about 2 years. Then it fell off, and I had a guys screw it on for me. It's been fine ever since.

good to see these answers. I got one for my birthday and am trying to find a mechanic to put it and all the other stuff I bought on. I want to the muffler cover too.

Re: [hollowbones] muffler exhaust tip Can't Post

Wave Greetings,

I have had a 2.5" stainless steel exhaust tip for about 4 years now and it still looks good. I use JB Weld to hold it on and it lasts about 1 year before I need to reapply.
For the record, I also live in N.M. where bad weather sneaks up and road salt is everywhere during the winter months.

What I know, a "Classic Edition" here in the U.S. is a base model. (usually pre 2006)
In the U.K. "Classic Edition" is another edition like a limited or a touring.

Check a website like CARFAX to see if your PT is a "Classic Edition", when I put my VIN into CARFAX it came back to a 2002 Classic.
