need help with alarm system

I sure hope you all can help me out last week when i was getting out of my PT and hit the remote button to lock my PT it did not lock or set the alarm. I had to manually lock the PT with the key, when i got back out to the PT, i hit the unlock on my remote and it opened the PT. I drove off and the locks automatically locked after it got to 15 MPH. Which I like and it has always done so. The next day when i got to work i did the same thang and it did not lock or set the alarm. I checked for fuses and could not find any that had blown. When i got home from work, i sat in the PT and tried to lock the pt with the buttons on the door and it would unlock but not lock I also noticed that the little red light would not come on. I checked the fault check on the dash and everything comes out ok. Could you all help me in figuring out what could be wrong Thanks in advance ----------

I think I have heard of this. Faulty control box, loose connection or bad solenoid. I am not sure which. ---------- NOT4SALE

well heck, I went out to the PT and decided to check all the fuses again, First I went to all the fuses inside the engine compartment all the fuses were good. Then went into the interior and removed the fuse panel and started systematically at the bottom of the fuse box removing and checking each fuse and replacing. As it goes the last fuse I pulled out and replaced i heard the door locks lock. I opened them with the remote and hit the close on the remote and the alarm and locks locked, maybe a gremlin was in the locks, go figure. Sure am glad that it is fixed Thanks for all the help from everybody ----------

I had the same problem... one day my alarm went off a couple of times for no reason, and then NONE of the remote locks would work. I did have a bad fuse, so I replaced it and SOME, but not all, of the locking capabilities came back... Now: - The remote fob works on rear doors and hatch (but not driver or passenger doors)
- The driver's side interior button works rear doors and hatch (but not driver or passenger doors)
- The Front Passenger's door - can't unlock with key from outside (no keyhole), can't unlock with either interior button, can't pull knob up. The only way to open this door is reach over from the drivers side and open it with the door latch (as if I were getting out on that side - not the lock)
- The Driver's door- from outside, unlocks with key only. From inside, the knob can be pulled up and pushed down, or door unlocks when opened with the latch (as if I am getting out).
- And the compass always says either E, SE, or S - regardless of what direction I'm driving. I have now circled the earth twice just trying to get home!! LOL
Needless to say, I'm confused... someone told me to disconnect the battery, wait a while, then reconnect... like rebooting the electronics. Anyone ever heard of that?? Have other ideas?? Thanks! ----------
