just got my new wheels for the kinky kitty and staying in theme they are made by panther. now, i plan to go with a 45 series tire to keep speedo accurate but was wondering what size tires can the pt handle? (without therubbing problems) they are 17 inch and thinking 225/45s but not bought them yet. there will be the grand debut of these in bama in april as it still a little cold here. ron

Are your wheel wider than stock--like 8 inches? that's what mine are and I'm running 225/45's...no problems at all and I'm also lowered 1.5 in front and 2 in the rear. ---------- DC1 #1610--5-speed. Its got some stuff. '03 Inferno Red--Its getting some stuff too!

the rims are 17x7.5 and says they will fit fine with no problems.i will be getting a lowering kit in near future so will more likely go with 225/45s. i was just wondering what maximum size would work without causing problems if used without a lowering kit. thanks for reply and maybe, hopefully get to meet down the road. ron ---------- When people see a cat's litter box, they always ask, 'Oh, have you got a cat?' 32 and snowing here. look forward to seeing everybody in bama again maybe i will get to your side of the road in the future soon. i lived in california for about 4 years in the 80s so i know you only have 2 seasons out that way.wet and dry. going to the beach on x-mas day just didn't feel right to this midwest guy.now i'm a southern yankee and don't get buried in snow but still see a little now and then. see ya'll in a few weeks, ron ---------- When people see a cat's litter box, they always ask, 'Oh, have you got a cat?' The 225/45s look awesome on the PTC. Do wonders for the stance especially after a casual drop. I have heard of people doing 18-20's. there is room to play with but depends on what you want. I don't want to sacrifice too much ride quality and want good handling. I think the set up I have is a good combo. Watch the wear on your tires. If you get a lot of cupping it maybe the shocks and struts. I had this problem and couldn't rotate the tires enough. Went searching and found eibachs and tokicos on craigslist for $200 plus shipping from a guy that used them for about 4k miles then decided to return to stock for trade-in. I may be on the left-coast, but that's north-left, and you're from the wrong Portland. At least you have a lot of greenery there like we do here. ---------- DC1 #1610--5-speed. Its got some stuff. i am thinking of going with the btg lowering springs cause i want to keep the rake instead of flattening out the car.i like the more aggressive old-school look. that will be summer project if i do. i want to check out ride and handling with new tires before lowering,so if anyone has had issues with btg springs i would appreciate input on this kit. ron ---------- When people see a cat's litter box, they always ask, 'Oh, have you got a cat?'
