What's new for 2004:
2005 PT Convertible - available January 2004
2004 Exterior Colors - Dark Plum Pearl, Seamist Green Metallic, and Cool Vanilla are new colors for 2004
Sirius Satellite Radio is now offered as a $325 option.
Turbo is now a $1,265 option on Limited Edition and Touring Edition, 180 HP - requires Automatic transmission
Liftgate mounted spoiler standard on GT and optional on other models
New disc drum brake option replaces 4-wheel disc ABS on all non Turbo models
GT Turbo model has a new "High Output" badge on rear liftgate
Antilock brakes can now be ordered with 4W Disc Brake, or Front Disk / Rear Drum options

What's out for 2004:
 Exterior Colors -  Stone White, Steel Blue, and Cranberry are no longer offered
 Factory Vinyl Flame Accents are no longer an option

Chrysler expands its 2004 PT Cruiser lineup to include a new 180-horsepower (134 kW) turbocharged engine option on Touring and Limited Edition models. With 180 horsepower (134 kW) at 5200 rpm and 210 lb.-ft. (285 N•m) of torque from 2800-4000 rpm, this latest engine option joins the 2.4-liter naturally aspirated engine and t he 220-horsepower (164 kW) High Output turbocharged engine to round out the 2004 PT Cruiser engine family. 

The 180-horsepower (134 kW) engine option includes a standard four-speed automatic transaxle, body-color front fascia with larger lower opening, a unique “2.4L Turbo” liftgate badge, large diameter chrome exhaust tip and new 16-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels. The addition of the 180-horsepower (134 kW) engine offers an affordable, yet powerful option to the PT Cruiser lineup.

An expanded Chrome Accents option is available on all 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser models. It includes bright pedals, a new leather-wrapped steering wheel with Satin Silver painted spokes, a chrome/body-color front fascia, chrome bodyside moldings, a chrome exhaust tip, a bright fuel filler door, chrome door lock knobs, front door sill scuff plates with bright winged logo inserts, a chrome shifter bezel on automatic transaxle vehicles and a Satin Silver shift ball. 

A liftgate-mounted body-color spoiler is a new option on PT Cruiser entry-level, touring and limited edition models, and is standard equipment on the PT Turbo. 

Available on all models, a new Sirius™ Satellite Radio Receiver option is factory-installed for 2004 and includes a one-year subscription. Also offered on Touring, Limited and PT Turbo 2004 models is a UConnect™ Hands-free Communication option, which uses Bluetooth™ technology to provide hands-free, in-vehicle communication. Integrated into the PT Cruiser’s electrical architecture, the audio is heard through radio speakers, with the customer’s own cellular phone conveniently placed anywhere in the vehicle.

2004 entry-level Chrysler PT Cruisers feature new standard body-color front and rear fascias and a Sentry Key® engine immobilizer. New options on this model include an aluminum wheel/touring group (16-inch painted cast-aluminum wheels, 205/55R16 all-season touring tires and a touring suspension) and a disc/drum ABS brake system.

Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring Edition vehicles also feature the following new brake system options: a disc/drum ABS brake system on naturally aspirated engine vehicles and a performance four-wheel disc ABS brake system with low-speed traction control on 180-horsepower (134 kW)-equipped vehicles. A new 16-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheel option also is available on Touring Edition vehicles with 180-horsepower (134 kW) turbo engines. 

Limited Edition PT Cruiser models with naturally aspirated engines also have the new disc/drum ABS brake system option. The new performance four-wheel disc ABS system option on vehicles with 180-horsepower (134 kW) engines includes low-speed traction control. New 16-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels are standard equipment on Limited Edition vehicles with the 180-horsepower (134 kW) turbo engine option.

A leather-trimmed interior with specially bolstered performance seats becomes standard on 2004 PT Turbo models, as do the power moon roof and 17-inch chrome-plated aluminum wheels. A leather-wrapped steering wheel with bright silver painted spokes, a new bright pedal package, chrome door lock knobs and a new “2.4L Turbo High Output" liftgate badge are standard 2004 PT Turbo features. 

New exterior color options for 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser models are Deep Plum Pearl Coat, Bright Seamist Green Metallic Clear Coat and Cool Vanilla Clear Coat.
